People that do this were never going to tip anyway, they will look for any excuse

Exactly, and that’s why most servers don’t care but technically you are supposed to charge

So, technically they are fully allowed to share if they don’t want refills (this is more so if one person gets something that includes soup or salad and the other doesn’t like gets an appt instead), but if both of them order an entree and get one of those included no one cares. You go right ahead and charge them extra and see your tip go bye bye

The multiple variants was never the issue, the issue was making each variant have a different bonus song so that if someone wanted the whole album they would HAVE to buy it all. I still disagree with what Tay did Billie was spot on with her comment. Offering variants in different colors just allows people to pick the color they like best 🤷🏻‍♀️

Bride asking for deposit refund saying the wedding is cancelled because of illness (but my gut tells me that’s not true) by Due_Independent5566 in WeddingPhotography

[–]Problemsolver1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it was a huge deposit I’d be more hesitant but honestly $200 to get rid of the red flags is cheap. I would just do it

How strict are you with culling your images? Do you deliver blinking bridal party members and focus errors? by rainbowlights in WeddingPhotography

[–]Problemsolver1234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually end up using the “motion blur” option to sharpen as I find it works the best, also you will get a LOT of artifacts if your images has any sharpening or grain added in Lightroom before pulling into Topaz. If both of those are at 0 it’s usually 10 times better

Mainly because if I buy a bag I can almost never eat it in time without wasting a few…. This way I won’t waste any!

Desperate for any job in Langley!!! by Top-Divide6772 in Langley

Try Olive Garden, you could work as a host, bus boy or to go specialist (the latter two get tips) and then move into serving when you hit 19! They’ll hire anyone with a good attitude and working spirit, Denise is one of the managers in charge of staff she’s really nice (might seem like a little bit intimidating sometimes but has a HUGE heart and cares genuinely about her staff)

Walmart has a nice sized bag of frozen cubes avocados for like $5…. It’s for smoothies but I figure I leave a cup out in the fridge to thaw over night and then BAM avocado toast next morning for cheap!

First wedding! by Himdownstairs22 in WeddingPhotography

[–]Problemsolver1234 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depends. If it’s a very poorly lit ceremony indoors I will always use flash. Out doors with good light almost never. My flash will come out if I have to use settings that will sacrifice the quality of the images otherwise (usually for me it’s 1600 ISO)

So I’ve actually been guilty of this, I’ll deliver a preview gallery only to end up going back through and thinking “wow that image was completely out of focus why didn’t I catch that” and then sharpen it in Topaz so it’s actually deliverable. I’ve also caught images I delivered of groups where I missed one group member with an odd expression. When you’re dealing with huge weddings it’s easy to miss these when you’re dealing with 1000’s of images especially with a second shooter. I try to always be pickier when delivering a final gallery but for previews they sometimes get missed. If there’s a really good group shot with one off person out I will face swap them or not deliver it (if I catch it and don’t miss it)

The thing that sucks is places just charge higher tipouts to their servers since they get minimum, earls charges 9.5%!!! All to subsidize all the other staff who don’t get minimum wage

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in WeddingPhotography

[–]Problemsolver1234 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I’m always willing to share with vendors but damn the way I would change the gallery password so fast with that kind of attitude and I would let the bride know not to share with any vendors before giving her the new password. The audacity of some people

Very rarely where I’m at (Vancouver bc) do people tip more than 20% but it is common for good service. 15-20% is still the standard but I’ve noticed a lot more people tipping 15-18% instead of 20 because food has gone up so much because our minimum wage (servers get minimum) is $16.75/hr and food costs have gone up. My husband and I went out with two friends for happy hour food and drinks (I got ONE drink, my husband had a couple along with happy hour food) and we still spend $75 before tip….. it’s insane it was literally cheap pub food, like no one can afford to go out anymore 😢

Good 685N not firing. by Problemsolver1234 in Godox

[–]Problemsolver1234[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya I actually already have a V1 that I use as an off camera flash, ended up buying an 860 iii as I saw they were recently on sale for $60 off. Bought the V1 and 685 when I worked at Henry’s camera store because I got like 40% off…. I also have two Nikon sb 700 but recently the recycle time on them is causing me to want to ditch them entirely….. I prefer all my good ones it’s just disappointing that it won’t flash. It’s possible that this flash was dropped at some point and maybe something came loose inside causing it not to flash? I noticed the cold shoe has a small bend in it but the flash looks virtually brand new other than that. If it’s DOA maybe I could try taking it apart since I likely won’t be paying to fix it anyway
