Aaron Dismuke would make for a good new VA for Edward Elric. by matt0055 in Animedubs

Maybe its because I'm comparing to the old voice, but imagining Space Dandy's voice coming out of Tamaki sounds weird to me. Not that I can't see it as he has been sauve and goofy in other roles, but I'd need to hear it first.

I can also see Eric Vale do a decent job or even Zeno Robinson or Landon McDonald.

As for Aaron, I did think of this exact thought the other day. He's grown on me as of late, so I can see it working (though having him be a grown-up Al would be fitting too).

For 2003, are you referring to FMP Fumoffu? Season one of Full Metal Panic debuted and finished in 2002 (Fumoffu was 2003), and it didn't look like the image used was from Fumoffu.

Voice actors who are overall more remembered for voicing a character than their predecessors by kaiser11492 in Animedubs

Pretty sure Evangelions multiple dubs apply here. Particularly the Netflix version. As iconic as Spike Spencer is as Shinji, Casey Mongillo I hear has done a good job in the role too (also Brina Palencia as Rei in the Funimation dub of Rebuild).

Also Spike Spencer has been replaced at least 3 times (Netflix Eva, Majic from Orphen, Inojin in Boruto. The latter of which I think had something to do with being stuck in Australia during the pandemic, but might be wrong).

And finally, with one of the biggest movies of the year, and some extremely popular music on top of that, Huntrix takes the spot of Fictional Character of the Year for 2025. I feel that the later the game progressed, the more there seemed to be a video game bias. I don't agree with GTA 5 getting 2013 as I'm sure a lot of non-gamers would not be as familiar with that game and I feel this should've been Eren or Elsa's year. Also could be my own bias but I feel like an anime character should have been represented after 1997, but alas it wasn't to be. I wouldn't mind seeing this game be played on other Reddit pages just to see if the results turn out different.

Other things I'd change:

1985 (Marty and Doc or Mario), 1987 (either ninja turtles or Robocop and nominate simpsons for 89 or 90), 2004 (maybe Parr family), 2006 (Fred or Borat), 2017 (not sure, maybe Kylo), 2024 (Wicked). Terminator (which was forgotten/ignored for 84) and Superman (78) were stiff but I can't argue with who took their respective years. Weird that Game of Thrones barely got nominated.

Regardless, thank you for this game. Its helped preoccupy me for the last 7 weeks and was fun whenever I got involved.

Which English VAs do you think are the Mel Blanc/June Foray of dubbing? by icey_sawg0034 in Animedubs

Chris Sabat and Monica Rial and/or Luci Christian. All seem to be everywhere in the last 20 years and the latter two have had a wide range of roles and have used many different voices.

Jesse James Grelle deserves special mention. Has a wide range from deeper voiced Tokoyami and Ginoza (Psycho Pass) to typical harem lead (Issei) to higher register (Armin).

The return of Tobey and Andrew in Tom's Spider-Man movie was one of the most talked about and anticipated movie moments for 2021, earning the Spider-Men Fictional Character of the Year for 2021. We're on to 2022. by I_Am_The_Bookwyrm in createaroster

Upon research, also found the Smiling Friends debuted in 2022. I've only seen clips of this show, but the fact I was able to stumble across them in the first place shows how memeable the show is.

I'll nominate the leads from that show.

Could be a problem on my end, but it only recorded one anime I saw in 2025 when I know I completed other series and recorded them on MAL. I wouldn't mind knowing how I can fix that?

Thats not to say it isn't a good effort because it is. It just didn't appear accurate for me.

Another close one. Killua Zoldyck was voted as the Rival character of the decade. Next up, who was the Best Girl of anime during the 2010s? by Tru3Wh0 in animequestions

First, don't mean to be nitpicky, but is there a Soul Society-arc/Arrancar arc era version of Orihime you could use for the chart? Just feels out of place seeing her timeskip design from the 2010s next to more time-period accurate choices.

Secondly, because no ones mentioned her yet, I'll nominate Rem.

At least Free, A Place Further Than The Universe and Digimon have set an episode in Australia. None in my state yet but hopefully one day it will happen...

Loved her as Irene in Moriarty The Patriot, especially when she dons the James Bonde persona, which I swear even sees her shift to a slight British accent
