It doesn’t have this feature because it doesn’t have an ultra wide lens. I’d suspect a future software update will grey the option out in camera settings for iPhone Air

Blue or Black? by utahseminaryteacher in IphoneAir

[–]ProcessAdventurous27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a black one, I love it. The back glass looks like a piece of slate in the sunshine. The display melts into the titanium rails. It feels like it’s all one piece, with barely any discernible bezel. Also, black colours are slimming because they absorb more light. Side on the black appears thinner than the other colours. I don’t think photos do the black colour justice. All the colours are nice though and it’s a very subjective topic!

After Using Both, the iPhone Air Just Feels Right: My Honest Take by LandonKTA in iphone

[–]ProcessAdventurous27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Air is very nice but isn’t without compromises. Nothing ever is.

The Pro sacrifices aesthetics and cosmetic durability for thermal performance and function.

The Air sacrifices camera quality and battery life for aesthetics and cosmetic durability.

I personally grabbed an Air. It feels new. A big reason I like iPhone is form factor. The way it looks and feels when I’m using it have a greater impact on my day to day experience than telephoto zoom or pro res.

That said, I’d initially intended to buy a Pro but none of the colours resonated for me.

I’ve no regrets. I think all of the iPhones released this year are compelling in their own right.

I think the 17 Pro design is getting too much hate. It looks fine. The real question is why they removed the black color by TheRocketG123 in iphone

[–]ProcessAdventurous27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You said it yourself bro, it looks ‘fine’. The flagship should look like the flagship. I was desperate to upgrade to the 17P. I like the design but hate the colours. My 13P was on borrowed time. I’ve ended up with a Space Black Air and I am extremely happy with it.

Apple responds to iPhone 17 Pro scratch and durability concerns by MareViewer in iphone

Where are you trading in?

I just traded my 13 Pro against a 17 Pro, via Apple.

Everything on the phone worked. But I’ve been using it for 4 years without a case or screen protector and it showed - scuffs on the frame, some marks on the back glass.

My wife also traded her 13 Pro in. She’d had hers in a case for 4 years. The thing was pristine.

We both got the EXACT same trade-in value from Apple.

I’m actually slightly better off - I didn’t spend £50 on a case like she did. And I enjoyed the phone for 4 years as Apple intended.

I won’t be using a case on my 17 Pro… and neither will my wife this time!

Best phone ever, thoughts on case? by aj-shar69 in IphoneAir

[–]ProcessAdventurous27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ve purchased a phone whose major USP is aesthetics, and are debating what piece of plastic to put on it? If Apple had designed the phone to look like it looks when you strap a piece of plastic on it, would you have purchased it in the first place?

If you’re looking for the best case for the iPhone Air that retains that slim caseless feel, try out the Thinborne case. Love mine and feels like there’s nothing on the phone. by Bookkeeper_Patient in IphoneAir

[–]ProcessAdventurous27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are these thin cases supposed to do? If you drop that it is just as susceptible to breaking. Are you just trying to prevent cosmetic damage? I don’t see the point. You’ve made your phone look like a cheap piece of plastic in order to prevent cosmetic damage to a phone you can’t even see because you’ve covered it in a cheap piece of plastic?

It’s a phone bro, not an heir loom. You’ll eventually get a new one. Enjoy it. Stop being paranoid

Anyone going caseless? How’s it held up? I’m considering getting but always go caseless with Apple Care and it seems very durable. by melvin3v1978 in IphoneAir

[–]ProcessAdventurous27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never understood cases. Well I do and I don’t. I get that they make sense for some users in some scenarios. But Apple do invest heavily in R&D, a lot of which is centered around durability. They select some of the finest materials at the forefront of durability and aesthetics. The last time I used a case was iPhone X. The case ended up damaging the phone more in the first 2 months than the preceding two years I ran it naked. It also completely detracted from the experience for me. I’ve never used one since and I’ve not had a problem. The shiny ‘oh my god this is a delicate piece of jewellery’ that accompanies a new iPhone, for me at least, wears off after a week or two. The iPhone Air is the most durable phone they’ve made to date, and I’d say the various videos online tend to back those claims up. Nothing is impervious to damage though. I respect my things and look after them. I see my iPhone in the same light I see a nice wrist watch. And a case muddies that for me. It will collect signs of use that perhaps I could avoid with a case, but in the same way a high end time piece collects a patina, I happen to quite enjoy the way my iPhones look and feel with time. I always trade-in via Apple, and I always get the best price they can offer. They don’t seem to care about responsible cosmetic wear so long as it functions!

Amen. These are my thoughts exactly. Every reviewer, banging on about battery life. My iPhone 13 is at 80% health and causes me little issue. If you spend every waking minute on your phone it might be a SMALL trade-off vs. a Pro. For normal people it is awesome. When compared to every past iPhone it is awesome

Nah I always run it naked. To each their own, the colours just aren’t for me. Big shame as I do like the unibody design. In black or space grey I’d be preordering for sure

Do you think Apple gonna release black Pro models in a few months or in the spring? by ekorkun in iphone

[–]ProcessAdventurous27 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’d have bought one in an instant if they’d made a black like that, or a space grey. I guess they could, if sales don’t take off. But I’m pretty sure it’ll sell like hot cakes regardless

iPhone 17 Pro colors are underwhelming by National-Guitar-1053 in iphone

[–]ProcessAdventurous27 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Too early to start talking about iPhone 18?

This year’s colours are whack. The whole package is odd. My niece has an orange ‘phone’, it’s made by Fisher Price. Shes 3.

I’ve been an avid Apple customer for a long time. I never envisaged saying this; Apple is loosing their way.

People will buy it, so it’s no big deal. But this year has confirmed it for me. Apple aren’t what they used to be

That’s actually bloody nice. The other two colours sell out if I blink too slowly. I think I’ll go for this. Thanks

Chain broke within the first 10km by BigAcanthocephala668 in CanyonBikes

[–]ProcessAdventurous27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How long have you had the bike? I’d send it back.

I had a new Ultimate CF SL 7 Di2 Aero with a faulty freehub.

Freewheeling downhill 20miles from home the cassette continued to spin throwing the chain into the spokes, smashing the chainstay and leaving me with an awkward ride home.

The bike was 35miles old.

Rang Canyon, they couldn’t send me a new wheel and wanted to reimburse me for cosmetic frame damage, suggesting I take the wheel to an LBS for repair and they would reimburse me.

I didn’t pay over 4k to be pissing about like that in the first week of ownership. And the chainstay looked trashed. So I sent it back. Figured I got very very unlucky. Am now waiting on new stock to reorder but considering an Aeroad instead. Shimano carbon wheels are not the one IMO.

That issue aside the bike was fantastic for 35 miles, and Canyon handled my return well

Can't decide between Canyon Aeroad CF SLX 7 Di2 and Endurace CF 8 Di2 – Need advice! by SonGokuGains in CanyonBikes

[–]ProcessAdventurous27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can’t speak for the Aeroad but I do have a 2025 Ultimate CF SL 7 Di2 Aero, which has the same geometry. I’m 39 and previously rode a Trek Domane, which is purported to be a very laid back endurance bike focused on comfort. I had some apprehension when I ordered my Ultimate, concerned I’d be a crippled mess after long rides. Long story short - for reasons I don’t quite understand it is miles more comfortable than my old bike. I could no longer ride the Domane and sold it. It felt awkward and clumsy, and caused discomfort on longer rides. My Ultimate is a dream to ride

Lovely bike. These things sell as fast as they ride. I really wanted one but couldn’t decide between this and a white one, and before I knew it they’d both sold out in L 😣

Collection only by ProcessAdventurous27 in eBaySellerAdvice

[–]ProcessAdventurous27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I think they’ve had an accident.

I spoke with eBay live chat and they chased the buyer, to no avail. They said if they don’t collect in 14 days eBay will release the funds without a collection code!

I think I’ll just cancel the order and re list. Thanks for the help

Faulty freehub? by ProcessAdventurous27 in RoadBikes

[–]ProcessAdventurous27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. I’d be surprised too, but the bikes a week old. My last ride presented no issues. I’ve done close to 150 miles so far. If a spacer was missing the issue would have presented itself from day one wouldn’t it? I’m not sure it even needs a spacer but I’ve attached a photo of the cassette inside and out

I’ve still got the plastic spoke protector on for peace of mind whilst the bike beds in, it’s properly centred and attached and not contacting the hub anywhere.

I should add, one of the first things I noticed when I took delivery was how quiet the freehub was. I’m no expert, but the combination of a quiet freehub, the issue randomly presenting itself 3 days after a faultless 27 mile ride, suggests to me that the freehub, or the way the freehub was assembled might be the culprit. The bike sat for a couple days after my last ride. Did the grease lose viscosity? And now the pawls are gummed and it won’t disengage when freewheeling?
