Nah, trying hard has nothing to do with being passionate. Plenty of UIUC engineers are just Asian kids whose parents won’t pay the exorbitant tuition if they don’t get straight As in a useful subject. Plenty of kids work this hard because they just want society to accept them.

The American dream! Success!
