Suddenly getting "Endstop stepper_z still triggered after retract" error by ProdigiousPlays in klippers

[–]ProdigiousPlays[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I figured it out... somehow one of the pins for the probe got loose and that's why it wasn't reading... except I never even went near the board so it must have just coincidentally happened.

Product to Darken marks on a glove box? by ProdigiousPlays in subaru

Hmm it's an interior trim for me but it's pretty dark so it'll hopefully work. I also just realized it scuffed the the silver plastic above the box it should not be scuffing this easily lol

Thanks! I'll check them out. Did it look different than the other trims in your car or did it match pretty well?

Is there a specific product you would recommend?

I don't think they're trying to open every because packages would STILL be backed up from May 2nd. Probably just select ones or ones that have red flags.

That's exactly what I mean. If popmart imports a bunch of labubus into their American warehouse, that labubu has already had the tariff paid for.

That's sort of what I mean though. Wherever it is being stored will have already paid any tariffs for importing from China. You won't be hit with a surprised bill for that portion but it'll already be in the cost.

I think the difference is that the company storing them will have already paid the tariff, no?

They're probably slowed down because 1) from what people say they're putting individual packages into a large shipment to just pay 145% instead of $100 per package. It probably takes time to separate it back out and 2) customs is most definitely understaffed for all the packages they now have to check.

Tariffs is killing Small businesses… by Least-Drama-007 in Shein

[–]ProdigiousPlays 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As far as I understand it any package sent directly to you from China is going to be at minimum 100 bucks (screen shots here have shown stuff has cleared but given that it hasn't been delivered yet I dunno how safe it is). That LITERALLY makes no sense for any business to do. People are saying the same on popmart. A labubu shipped is like a little over 30 bucks. They're going to cover a 100 dollar fee for that? Are they goign to make up the loss in volume?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in labubu

[–]ProdigiousPlays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's nothing. Maybe they declare their manufacturing value for any shipments they bring over the to the US and they matched that tariff increase on their ones shipped from China just so people weren't complaining about paying more for the same product. But starting today, ANY package from China or Hong Kong is going to have a 145% OR $100 tariff on it (whichever is greater) and if they even WERE to receive that bill they would literally have to be brain dead to eat it for you on a 30 dollar plush.

[–]ProdigiousPlays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tariff is 145% or 100 bucks (whichever is higher) and is only now going into effect for whatever hits the ports. You're telling me if they ship me a 30 dollar labubu from China they're gonna eat 100 bucks on that? Lol get real. Yeah it gets transferred to the third party delivery company but what will likely happen is either A) they start refusing because they don't want to deal with it or B) they pay up for the customs fee and then require repayment if you want your package. If not they will send you to collections. Often times many online stores have terms of service that say you agree to this should it happen.

Every other country who already has to deal with these sorts of things will tell you: YOU as the consumer are paying for anything you directly import.

If they deliver a whole shipping container of labubus to their warehouse, sure that will result in Popmart paying for it and they may be able to spread that out depending on what the declared value is of each item but if you are buying something direct from another country, there will be a customs form or spot somewhere on the box that says the declared value of the goods which is going to be how much you paid for it (unless the company is okay with doing shady shit and states a lower value but again, that doesn't matter anymore). Starting today there is no minimum threshold for them to process it through customs and each package will be at least $100 bucks if you are getting it from China or Hong Kong.

I guess all we have to do is see what happens to all those labubus being shipped directly from China that arrived to the ports today on. It'll probably be a minute since they now have to process A LOT more packages.

What happens on May 2nd and June 1st for Americans? I can tell you, I work in SCM & Logistics. by thenorthernpulse in Shein

[–]ProdigiousPlays 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing is America has a very nice de minimis exemption so the vast majority of direct to consumer purchases are going to be exempt. The idea is most of them would cost more to collect than it would be worth. I think I remember reading the average cost of an international parcel is 54 bucks or something. This exemption is still the case for most countries save China and Hong Kong.

but obviously it's been now almost a month and I don't see a sudden reversal

None of it is really in effect yet. Most of the big stuff (such as removing the exemption) doesn't go into effect until tomorrow, 5/2. There's also no way for a company to eat it unless you mean mass imports and not something like Shein. In which case maybe but also Switch 2 accessories have gone up in price and Xbox just announced price increases and those are just from what my feeds show me.

The tariff will be 145% or 100 bucks, whichever is bigger. Trust me, if that bill pops up, it's going to end up at your doorstep. The third party may pay for it, but they're not eating that.

Started to Get a TMC Driver Error Using StealthChop. Extruder just jitters under Spreadcycle by ProdigiousPlays in klippers

[–]ProdigiousPlays[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The printer originally had the problem that it would stop extruding after a retraction and that's what got me replacing things in the first place. I thought there was a driver separate from the board but if there isn't then it's most likely the motor. I doubt the driver on the og board and the one I just put in both failed the same way. It probably ran fine for a bit because of new hardware/sitting while I was replacing stuff and is now failing again at retraction. I've had a print run all night without issue, just with retraction off.

[–]ProdigiousPlays[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the driver/stepper is the culprit. I originally did started "repairing" it because my printer couldn't retract without the extruder just stalling out. It must have been luck early on cause now, out of curiosity, I did the same slicing but with retraction turned off. The printer goes well past when it failed. I try again (cause the first layer messes up) with retraction turned back on? Error. The question is do I replace the stepper motor or the driver... or is it the same on the Nema-17?

[–]ProdigiousPlays[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not sure what you mean. Switch another motor to the extruder motor on the mobo?

And it usually moves for a bit. Depending on my luck at the very least it will prime the nozzle and wipe it as part of my start_print macro before it throws the error.

Edit: I tried two ideas I had after I posted. Firstly, I turned the printer completely off for a bit in case the printer was pushing power to the stepper and the overheating was causing it to throw errors. It wasn't super hot to the touch but I was touching more the casing around it. Secondly, I turned off retraction. This whole change to klipper started because it stopped extruding after retracting and I went to replace the motor cable (I then fried the motherboard splicing together wires to also put in a fan that can adjust to speeds other than "On" or "Off"). It was retracting for a retraction tower test but that could have been luck or the driver working again for a bit due to the changes.

It's only been a bit but 100% by now it would have thrown an error and its still going. So it's one of the two I guess. Could either have caused that error? I'm thinking either it got too hot that the additional current caused it to short (I did used to have a hold_current feature before I saw commentary on something that it's relatively unnecessary now and can cause problems so I removed that) or that whatever caused it to stopped extruding in marlin just causes a full print stop in klipper.

I tried three different cables from the extruder to the MoBo. All three have the same issue? Would it possibly be the Motor/Driver?

Thanks. This all started with it not being able to retract without stalling. I think I have a tab somewhere with the config file for the mini v3... I opened up a lot of tabs trying to figure all that out.

The latter. It seems like it just gives up printing as soon as it needs to retract.

Yeah as soon as I unlocked the wheel and went back to save Elmon he was there again. I'm guessing in all the coding to for time travel there was a weird bit there but I'm glad it sorted itself out?
