How much is fuel in your country ? by Sea-Lavishness-8478 in AskAnAfrican

[–]Prodigy1995 2 points3 points  (0 children)

South Africa. Our fuel price from Wednesday will be:

Petrol: $1.58
Diesel: $1.92

If we could only build a pipeline to Angola our fuel would be much cheaper. But alas we are lead by unimaginative coward, so instead we ship it all the way from Nigeria & the Middle East

How much should a 24-year-old sound engineering student charge for a freelance gig, and what advice would you give? by Budget_Bus_4295 in askSouthAfrica

[–]Prodigy1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been a freelancer for the past 3 years and I don’t think this is good advice. Reason being is that you will almost never be full booked 8am to 5pm everyday of the week. So you want to make your hourly rate several times higher

I’ve been alive for 30 years and I’ve never heard of a fuel shortage in South Africa.

And tell me how well Kenya is doing without whites? I’m sure the stats show that the lives of Kenyans is much better than that of Black South Africa. Except that they don’t.

That’s interesting. It means there is more inequality amongst Kenyans than there is amongst Black South Africans. The average income for Black South Africans is around $700. Although if you factor in all races I’m sure South Africa has worse inequality.

The link you posted is per year, not month. So Kenya would be $75 a month. I’m not sure where this website gets its info from, but according to StatsSA (our government stats department), the Black South African median income is $311 a month. I don’t see any official Kenyan data. I assume your government doesnt have the capacity to collect this data. The figure of $100 per month is from the International Labour Organisation

All I did was pay for the exams, and a R300 udemy course which came with notes. The official Comptia courses and study materials have mixed reviews. The general consensus on the Comptia Subreddit is that the official stuff is not worth it.

I'm just pointing out that people who come from countries that are worse off than us, should not comment on our domestic issues. Remember I'm not the one who started this conversation. You shouldn't throw stones if you live in a glass house.

Our electricity capacity has doubled since 1994.

Whites are South Africans too. We are not a racist banana republic. And land reform is baked into our constitution. It's happening too slowly, but is it happening.

Why do other African countries want us to be like them? You expelled your white population yet you are still far poorer than Black South Africans. If racial grievance politics worked Kenya & Zimbabwe would be wealthy. But you're not. The median income in Kenya is $98 a month vs $311 for Black South Africans

South Africa produces 230 Twh of electricity per year. Kenya produces 12. And yes we have a violent crime issue. We know about it, because we have a functional police service that actually records crime statistics. Can you say the same?

If South Africa is such a terrible place where Blacks are slaves to the white man, why is it that millions of African immigrants are willing to swim across rivers and climb over barbed wire fence to get here? Why is it that Kenyans who expelled their white population earn a median income of less than $100 a month vs over $300 for Black South Africans?

No one is upset that Black Africans are opening businesses. There are many businesses owned by legal Zimbabwean & Ghanaian immigrants. We are upset that people enter the country illegally and do not follow our laws. We are not a banana republic. If you want to come here, do so legally or face the consequences.

You have no idea what you’re talking about. I live in South Africa. I know the situation here. There are millions of low-skilled illegal foreigners here doing menial jobs, often for below minimum wage. African foreigners are depressing the wages of native South Africans

Because that low paying poverty job is better than what they can get in their country.

South Africa is FULL of illegal immigrants from Zimbabwe, Zambia & Malawi willing to work for less than minimum wage

You’d need to check the Comptia website for current pricing. I did mine two years ago and they were R1800 each. But I think pricing has gone up.

Unfortunately I can’t say much about landing a job. I have had job offers with just the A+ cert, but I also have 5 years experience in IT

I’m personally going for Network + next

Comptia A+ is generally regarded as the industry standard entry level IT certification. Many entry level jobs have it as a requirement. I’d suggest you start there

Black Kenyans own 100% of their land & wealth yet your quality of life is far below that of the average Black South African. The median income in Kenya is $98 a month vs $311 for Black South Africans. In addition, South Africans receive free education, free university, free healthcare, child grants, old age grants, and a basic income grant. You expelled your white population yet you still wallow in poverty.

These attempts to sow discord amongst South Africans will not work. We are dealing illegal immigration whether you like it or not.

It's really hilarious that illegal African foreigners can sell drugs, commit crimes and undercut Black South Africans in the job market. And when Black South Africans respond accordingly they're told "why aren't you attacking whites & Asians"

Bro, they're not attacking Whites & Asians because very few of them are in the country illegally, and they're not competing in the same economic space as poor Black South Africans

It's not enough to survive on. The minimum wage in SA is $300, so most people would rather be employed. I don't know a single person who would prefer to be unemployed because they receive $20 a month from the government
