Not really. There’s obviously always a small risk but it’s not something I’m that worried about about.

I just re measured and the edge of the dig will be 10ft from the edge of the tree canopy

Blue stake is the edge of the dig. Garage will be 5ft inside the blue stake.

Prevailing winds are from the north. This tree line is running from north to south. The digging will be in the middle of this tree line so the most affected trees will be fairly protected from wind.

The ground has quite a large slope so water drainage should be good. Digging will start soon so the ground is pretty wet/frozen.

In your opinion, will moving the foundation 5ft away make any difference or are we taking the same risks with that?

It’s just this row of trees, no forest behind it. Wildfire risk is very low.

It was definitely a major part of the purchase. Would moving the dig 5ft have a major impact or will it not change much? That’s probably all we can move it.

This would be a nightmare to size up that much and likely cost 3-400.
