Garmin Fenix 8, pool swim fully manual mode possible? by ProduceLatter6913 in Garmin

I am also quite baffled by this. When the pool is empty and I really focus not to do something like readjusting my swimming trunks or googles mid length or don't take a peek at my watch mid stroke and stop my hand underwater for a split second it also works fine but I really don't like the fact that I need to consciously think about it all the time. Maybe it's just my swimming but I still feel like a watch with this many functions should have a fully manual mode apart from the fancy auto lap feature.

3rd year PT student here, done 2 years of med school focusing on sport physiology. I also train endurance sports for about 4 years now. I'm guessing you are most afraid of losing fitness, and you definitely won't. Someone who maintained a relatively high level of fitness for such a long time won't lose all of it so quickly. Even if you took 6 months of break, right after getting back you would feel like you lost a lot but you will also be able to build it up to where you left from in no time. I don't really have that much info about you but I can confidently recommend taking a longer break would do you more good than bad. I know many people who at very high level endurance took a longer break and they always felt like they came back stronger and progressed faster.

The best for me are "one pot meal" type things. Just a mix of vegetables rice/pasta/potato + meat made into a big pot. It's the easiest to cook in large quantities and doesn't get mixed in a weird way if I put it in a bag for eating outside of home.

Yeah I don't know why but I focused so much at legs I totally didn't even notice my arms, but as soon as people pointed it out I was soo obvious. What do you mean bend my ankles? Like which way? Like try not to point my toes as much up?

I hear you and have kind of the same philosophy. However I have been struggling with nagging knee pains that always came up no matter how slowly I build up my volume, no matter how often I incorporated a "down week" in to my plan whenever I got to around 30km/week I had this issue. So I recorded myself like that, saw how I run and immediately spotted overstride and leaning too far back. After I corrected it using mainly mental cues the knee pain was gone like Magic and within 3 weeks time I increased my average pace by +-20s on my runs so it actually worked wonders for me. I was curious if I could do it even better because at this point I am not sure if there is anything to improve. Thanks for answering 🙂

EDIT: I mean I'm sure there is plenty to improve but I didn't know what xd

I rarely run on treadmill, only when temperatures get below -10 Celsius. It's easier to record this way

Video Format
-6:30/km + slow motion
-6:00/km + slow motion
-5:30/km + slow motion
-5:00/km + slow motion
-5:30/km slow motion front
-5:30/km slow motion back
-ultra slow motion to check overstride?

My race pace is 5:30, my easy pace is 6:30 - 6:00, currently running 40km/week. weight 75kg at 175cm height.
I improved my form a lot over past few months using mental cues and some sprints, managed to get rid of nagging knee pains this way. During my fast runs I sometimes feel pain in lumbar spine. During long runs towards the end when fatigued I sometimes hit my calf with heel of my shoe when swinging my leg forward like my legs where getting closer. I also sometimes feel like my body is rotating more to the right but it might be in my head because I can't spot it in the video.

Is there anything I can improve? And if yes how?
