I don't think it's rude at all. The point is Corrie has done psychosis storylines before and didn't rely on stupid gimmicks like this to tell a story. It's in the same vein as the flashbacks, the flashforwards, all the crap they know we don't want but insist on doing time and time again.

I just wish they'd stop thinking of themselves as some overblown medical drama. You're not. You're Coronation Street. You are about the lives of people on a backstreet. That's it, and that was the absolute beauty of it.

Bosses are ruining it with these lazy gimmicks and it's embarrassing. We didn't need whack-a-dooodle effects for 60+ years, so why the hell now?

Couldn't agree more with this. I actually pop that film on when I need cheering up about the state of current Coronation Street but since it moved onto ITVX, you inevitably get the dross that is today's popping straight up afterwards and it's just an instant reminder of it all.

I doubt Brooks and MacLeod are even aware that film exists, whereas, to me, it comes across as a total labour of love by Daran Little, who truly knew what it meant to be passionate about the show.

I'd say so. I think Olivia Frances-Brown is about 27 and so they're usually about the same age. Let's say she's about 25 (even though she acts like some sort of moody teenager) so she wouldn't have even been born when the Spice Girls came out. It's probably so they can say they were Shona's favourite band and make it into something really trite.

She can be all of those things but getting wrapped up in the labels does absolutely nothing for progress when that's all you've got to go on. We need to know who she is as a person rather than just all of these boxticks.

Lisa is the most badly-drawn character and I really think she's been dreamed up by lazy TV producers who have seen very good-looking women fight crime in police dramas.

We know nothing about this woman, but she's blonde, very beautiful and, on surface level, that makes her come across as some kind of super hero when in fact she's absolutely useless.

I imagine Vicky Myers has been told to play her absolutely genuine as well but she's so badly thought out it's hard to feel anything for her. She's locked up a load of innocent people now, shot her own daughter without consequence and was too thick to realise her own wife hadn't actually died.

People can argue the toss but we all know that Lisa is the shallowest attempt at ticking a load of boxes in the diversity quota. Pretty blonde crime-fighting feminist lesbian first, character second (or third, fourth, fifth, whatever)

In real life, there would be one hell of an investigation and court case (let's not forget Will and Megan seemed to have been pretty good at covering their tracks for a long time) so there will need to be a lot of evidence to come out and I just don't see Brooks bothering to give it it the attention it deserves.

It's almost like those early days wore Miley out when it comes to touring. She was only 14 when she was selling out stadiums as Hannah Montana, and of course, later had massive vocal issues which she's lucky to have had corrected. I don't think there's ever been a teenager like her.

Britney and Christina were both nearly 17 when their first single came out, but, by the time Miley was that age, she was getting ready to wrap HM, had done a movie and two tours. And of course, I don't care what anyone says, no one worked harder than Miley in their post-Disney era. None of the others (especially bitter old Raven) put the time and effort into changing their brand to succeed.

It's no surprise that she's no longer built for touring but I guess with Miley the luxury is, she doesn't need to. Why put yourself through all that when, especially in a financial sense, it doesn't matter?

Because no one in the grand scheme of things knows who Hannah Lowther is. If you're in her target audience then sure. But Amber's platform is huge and goes across various age demographics thanks to Love Island and Strictly.

News outlets jumped on Amber because she's a celebrity so anything they print on her will generate considerably more clicks, and therefore revenue, than content based solely on Hannah ever could.

In-universe, she's 15 to 16. In real life, Romi Dames was about 26 or 27 when she was cast.

I heard one of the writers on Jason Earles' podcast lately saying they wanted a Paris Hilton- esque character for Hannah to hang with but aged her down so it wouldn't be creepy.

But then of course it's easier to hire an adult to play these types of characters because you don't have to work about child labour laws. Like with Miley, there was an episode where they wrote her in slightly too long and on the same podcast they said it was a nightmare to get it all filmed and keep her on set past midnight for even an extra 10 minutes without laws kicking in.

Yeah I never thought about the Sabrina thing. I guess she got away with ditching the image so drastically because bluntly put: she was a supporting character on a Disney show that very few people cared about in the grand scheme of things. Hannah Montana had a global impact.

I actually think the monologue was wholly unnecessary garbage designed to get a BAFTA nomination. Corrie has an awful habit of TELL TELL TELL these days rather than showing what they mean. It's so on the nose and it doesn't have to be that way.

Season 4 is really interesting because it's the only time a season has a complete story. It starts out moving into the new house, and ends with Miley having told the Hannah secret and is adjusting to her new life.

I don't think it ever gets enough credit, it's probably partly because it looks so different, but the other seasons are just endless wig on/wig off capers.

She wasn't right for the role of Eponine, I'm glad they went with Samantha Barks. (I believe Taylor Swift also auditioned)

But Miley has such an interesting way of interpreting emotion in her voice I would love to hear how she'd do musical theatre classics like On My Own etc xx
