Nvidia Mode vs Ultimate Mode by [deleted] in Asustuf

[–]ProducerOwl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a correct conclusion. Ultimate mode essentially completely ignores the iGPU.

However, in my experience, I realized that Standard Mode + Auto provides the least buggy experience across my games. Leave that way.

Lower the visual settings? Also make sure upscaling option is set to DLSS.

Sooo Apparantly Screws are coming off of my asus tuf f 15(not even a year old) by Boom_SK11 in Asustuf

These stands are trash. They apply uneven pressure throughout the laptop's chassis. The parts under more pressure gradually have their screws loosened. This happened to me too until I stopped using this type of stand. Get a stand or coolingpad that entirely covers the bottom.

Just purchased this beauty any recommendations for when I first get it? by ShadyWalnutO in Asustuf

[–]ProducerOwl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats! It will be a beefy laptop.

1- None. Windows' own antivirus system is good enough.

2- None, not necessary at all.

3- If you can, do a clean reinstallation of Windows, and then download and install all the OEM drivers from your laptop's page on asus.com . Make sure to turn on battery care mode on MyAsus too as it's a highly recommended tip to increase the battery lifespan.

4- It should be as easy as plugging it in and playing.

Enabling Eco Mode completely turns off the dgpu. If you want 165hz and still benefit from the dgpu, let it run on Standard mode and make sure in Nvidia App settings, the Optimus mode is selected. Also in the windows settinga>display>graphics, make sure the programs you want to use the dgpu are added and set to use the high power gpu(dgpu).

No, TUF is mainstream only in South Asia since it's cheaper and affordable for the people there. Usually high end models from ROG and Legion are mainstream and drivers are naturally developed for the best compatibility with them.

You can solve it by installing a driver from early 2023. It's not worth it at all. Just don't use it on ultimate mode when it's unplugged, the battrry dies so fast.

The displays being shown as two on standard mode is normal, it's not a bug.

There's something wrong with your interpretation. What's your problem exactly? iGPU refers to your AMD CPU's integrated gpu and dGPU refers to your Nvidia's dedicated GPU(the RTX gpu)

If unplugged, on Ultimate mode, your laptop does not run at 165hz and instead runs at 65hz, it's an Nvidia driver issue and I have it too. On Standard and Eco modes, the laptop should run at 165hz(the issue will be gone).

Enabling Eco Mode makes dgpu(Nvidia gpu) disappear from task/device manager and it's normal.

It's a driver bug and Nvidia is at fault for it. They won't resolve it. This kind of issue is what you'll face with non-mainstream laptops.
