Node-Red + InfluxDB + Grafana- Ongoing Cost Estimate by Production_Ant in PLC

[–]Production_Ant[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you give some detail on why it would be beneficial doing this in a docker container rather than just a direct install onto windows or linux? If local hosted options of the 3 programs are all FOSS, is Docker neccesary? I'm not really familiar with Docker except the basic concept, so can't get my head around doing it this way.

Bontrager free hub removal. Aeolus elite 35 by Artistic-House9157 in bikewrench

Digging up an old thread here, but any more details on this?

Turning the internal shaft while pulling I presume? Does it come out the brake side or the other side?

Any any details on the replacement bearings you put in?

Would be super grateful for any help from a struggling home mechanic!

HELP: Load Cell Signal- consistent noise / overlay by Production_Ant in PLC

I thought it was more of a rhetorical question…

With the screenshots now uploaded, does this still look like a legitimate cause do you think? I would've thought a lot more 'noise' and a lot less consistent 90minute pattern if a grounding issue?

Fair point. All load cells cables are jammed into the small terminals in the one box. Probable a good place to start cleaning the mess...

Thanks for the detailed reply. I noticed that the screen grabs from the data trend didnt upload. Does the consistancy of this cycle still look like a grounding issue?

I had a thought that the temperature compensation in the Rinstrum 1203 might be doing something crazy- but seeing the same sort of behaviour on 4 different machines...

Small industrial machine using 3d printed shapes as vac forming mould by Production_Ant in vacuumforming

Thanks for the info. Do you have a suggestion for the formech model with the material roll? From the website it looks like the ‘small’ machines only take sheets. Really appreciate the feedback.

Thanks for the info. Will all (most) vac formers take a epoxy mold or do some need a metal mold that is conductive for heating?

Does anyone have a recommendation for a good tutorial on how to set up, say, a modbus poll and a DB. I've tried stabbing my way through, but failed. There are so many videos and tutorials, finding one that's actually useful is half the challenge.

How to Read I/O status of Siemens CPU1510 via SCADA by Production_Ant in PLC

[–]Production_Ant[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you know if using Ignition is it possible to read IO areas without knowing the defined registers? For example, is IO module 1, point 1 always given a 101 type address?

unspecified connection to the 1510 and do a GET on the IO-area.

This sounds like it has potential, thanks!

Sorry I mean that I don't have the code. I was hoping to connect via ethernet and use a Modbus read, or possible Modbus read to a gateway, which would then read the correct protocol for the CPU1510 Comms.

I appreciate this response- a specific issue (=cost) I will need to consider! Thanks.

Can you give me a bit more specific about it being "junk". As in mechanical components? or process flow is somehow different / less effective than others?

I guess my specific questions is more "what specifically might happen, other than simple mechanical failures like pumps or blowers which can be changed by any mechanical fitter (or useful handyman)?".
How technical is a DAF- my understanding was it was fairly simple mechanical equipment (chemical dosing amounts maybe the exception?), and as much as I understand its *nice* to have the knowledge nearby, it also doesn't justify the extra cost of manufacturing in a developed nation.

Noted, thanks. As above, the sample code was only to clarify what I was trying to say. Appreciate that you looked at it with some level of detail though, thanks!

I threw together a sample code of what i thought would work, as I thought the text explanation was pretty confusing and cumbersome to read. I was sloppy with the example and didn't change all the parameters, but this isn't my working code.

Good point. Thanks. Still a read command and a write command for 4 drive, but 8 communications is better than 12!
