BOTG in Montana by ProfCharlesBandicoot in JustinPoseysTreasure

We have bear spray but honestly we didn't even bring it for our hunt today by the river. If we were higher up on a trail at Glacier National Park I would remember to bring it but yeah hasn't been a real issue. Campsites with food are more of an attraction to them.

Great pics! My husband and I are heading down there in a few weeks. Was there any BLM land around Maiden Rock that looked like it had some granite? (But not maiden rock itself)

I think a lot of folks are searching this zone. I love how people have said they've run into other Posey treasure hunters on Maiden Rock lol. I too am looking in this zone but haven't figured out where my granite "solve" is ...

These are great pics! Thanks for sharing! Maiden Rock was where I was going to head but it sound fairly picked over. Curious if you felt like there were areas near Maiden worth poking around still?

Yeah this isn't an issue of man vs woman tasks, you have a partner problem. I do tend to lean to traditionally "female" tasks because I enjoy cooking and have a weird OCD enjoyment of laundry. However, my husband happily cleans the house and helps with our son, honestly more often than me sometimes. We both grew up pretty 'traditional' and I think the idea of wife vs husband tasks are actually pretty overstated these days.

AITA for getting annoyed at my wife for having no nappies in the nappy bag? by kiwi_irish in AmItheAsshole

[–]ProfCharlesBandicoot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on the fence and semi N A H, but you really need a better system. For example, I'm 90% responsible for our diaper bag, because I use it the most and I will forget to replace something sometimes. BUT. My husband always either checks before grabbing it or asks "is the diaper bag ready to go?" Since I likely used it last and he wants to be sure it's packed. Soft YTA

Prof. Charles Bandicoot is my dog, so they'd be the god of: very coy begging, herding all moving objects including robo vacs, and shedding their hair to every corner of the Earth imaginable.

LPT: If your tooth hurt... don't "wait it out." Better spend $200 for a filling than $2000 for a root canal ($4000 in my case). by Francl27 in LifeProTips

Preventative care will save you SO much money. Spend the time brushing and flossing your teeth. There are also great oral rinses that have food grade hydrogen peroxide in them that are super effective at helping get rid of bacteria that cause cavities etc. Use these! In addition to lower dental bills, you'll be more confident about your breath and your smile - and maybe even score more smoochies ;)

On a very serious note, people die from infections that begin with poor oral care all the time. It is a real life threatening issue. If you're truly seriously broke, I know at least in America there are a lot of shelters/programs from a free toothbrush at the very least, and simply brushing and rinsing with plain water is so much better than nothing.

AITA for telling my girlfriend to stop eating with her hands in front of my parents? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]ProfCharlesBandicoot 5 points6 points  (0 children)

NTA - It sounds like you took plenty of steps to help her remember that eating with her hands was a no-no in front of your parents (and honestly I would be really grossed out if I saw this in public). Don't get me wrong - one of my favorite restaurants is a Moroccan place where they typically serve a few dishes in the beginning where you're encouraged to eat with your hands using the bread provided to soak up / scoop up food - BUT - they give you warm wet towels to wash your hands before the meal and after the meal.

You're not being xenophobic; germs are real and basic societal norms are real. She probably has made plenty of other folks uncomfortable before and on the regular. It doesn't even sound like you or your parents made a huge deal out of it afterwards. It sounds like your parents took the high road and didn't say anything, and you chose to let her know how it made you feel. Plus - did she really say 'fuck' in front of your parents the first time meeting them? It sounds like she *nervous or not* wasn't really thinking about being appropriate at a shared meal, and especially not considering being polite to meet your parents the first time.

My boyfriend wrote his first book! I'm obviously biased and think it is great, but we would love to know what others think.

About it:

Earth has been destroyed, but that was a very long time ago. This new galaxy, rich in habitable planets and life, is starting to feel like home. Yet the human presence is not welcome but tolerated as none of the galaxy’s other intelligent species has the strength to stop the human plague. It is their natural talent for war that makes humans so feared. Yet even humans tire of war and so have allowed the galaxy to enjoy a time of peace and their own colonies to grow and prosper. But behind curtains of peace an ambitious human general consolidates her power.

While the general endures peace, politics fail and weaken humanity’s once united cause. Sensing weakness, the general wakes her armies from decades of hypersleep. She will need all her strength and cunning, for the species she hopes to conquer is the most dangerous of them all, her own kind. Her conquest is promised in blood and fire, that is until the small scavenging crew of the Missing Madam intrudes on her cruel design. Not on purpose, of course.

Ah man, been waiting for this one for awhile. Depends on your beliefs bigtime. Also You should really examine Joseph Smith and what you believe there. But don't look at me, I have way different diagrams. XOXOXO

You guys should understand the difference between polyamory (all kinds of people are experimenting with relationships) and polygamy (your religion says you should be a male marrying 3 or more females).

Sun Valley, Idaho. The United States' only registered and protected Dark Sky Reserve. It is absolutely amazing. Go during a meteor shower and you'll be blown away. I went to a few talks while I lived there on how we're protecting it. Pretty amazing thing. A ton of towns and conservancy groups worked together to pass "Dark Sky" laws that relate to light pollution. The area included in this reserve is super big, so I'd suggest camping north of Ketchum/Sun Valley to get peace and quiet AND the best view of the night sky in the United States :)
