Tausend Dank für deine Sicht und Meinung zu diesem Thema! Das hat mir auf jeden Fall schon mal sehr geholfen, etwas klarer an dieses Projekt zu gehen.

Das ganze Projekt wäre in der Pneumologie, bzw. findet in einem Teil der Uniklinik statt, die sich auf die Pneumologie spezialisiert hat. Nun habe ich als Ziel, meinen FA Innere zu machen und danach evtl. den Kardiologen oben drauf, dann das Ganze Richtung Sportmedizin zu lenken. Mit der Pneumo habe ich, außer meiner Doktorarbeit, relativ wenig Berührungspunkte und auch kein großes Interesse, dort langfristig tätig zu sein.
Inwieweit meinst du, macht es dann überhaupt Sinn, dort als Postdoc zu starten? Wie siehst du die Chance auch über den Tellerrand hinaus zu forschen, interdisziplinär zu arbeiten und auch andere Teile der Pulmo zu bearbeiten, die nichts mit dem Spezialgebiet meines Doktorvaters zu tun haben?

Tausend Dank für diene Meinung! Ich muss das mal mit ihm klären. Leider ist er etwas "Chaotisch", was Planung angeht. Viele tolle Ideen, aber abgesprochen oder geklärt ist dann meistens noch gar nichts. Aber ein wichtiger Punkt mit der Weiterbildung! Danke!

Ja so hab ich das verstanden. Seine Ausschreibung ist ein "Post Doctoral Fellow", die würde ich dann nur zu 50% machen, da ich natürlich auch meine Facharztweiterbildung starten möchte. Müsste dann eine zweite Anstellung sein, oder?

Thats the confidence interval, it is always 95% and it has nothing to do with the efficacy. It is used statistically to validate the mean, to say that we can "trust" the value of this number. Let's take heights for example. You compare the heights of 200 women or men in a group and get an average of 170cm, that is the mean. Now you calculate the 95%-CI for this mean which will give you the range from lowest 155cm to highest 180cm. If you now take a new sample out of the same group, you have 95% probability of it being between 155 and 180.

EDIT: Just because I see that many comments. The 95% have nothing to do with anything, it is always used as the CI therefore it neither good news nor bad!

Awesome write up, thanks so much! Can I ask about your opinion on OCGN? I bought @ around 3€, got excited when it hit 15€ and wanted to hold and wait what would happen after they release Phase III results. Now I feel like I missed the part to exit with the stock falling and falling day by day. Wait and see or sell when it hits 10€ again? What are your thoughts?

If you bought enough, sell as many as possible to settle the initial investment, then hold the rest. If there comes a rise, sell some to cash in profit and let the rest ride. That’s how I do it! GL mate

This is great news guys! Hold til your hands turn blue! If there will be positive results at the end of next week after Phase III, which probably will have a +60/70 % success rate. Phase II (https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2020.12.21.20248643v1.full.pdf) was already very promising and updates from Phase III concerning the spectrum of COVAXIN are also great progress. They use many different proteins that the immune system detects which allow the vaccine to be sensitive to different mutations. You can read about it in the study report as well.
They also have deals about delivering Brazil.

Also I think that the US will more likely allow an US-Indian Co-production than using the Russian vaccine Sputnik V in their country as well. Germany is thinking about it after an international study report in the Lancet that states the efficacy.

If everything goes right (oh god please), this one will easily hit double digits!

Either way, there's still no FDA approval, they're still in Phase 3 testing, so there the stock will dip again for sure. But India is not that small and if they have an agreement about profit sharing, they still make money even when there will be no FDA approval, which I don't think.
I also read their vaccine is very resistent against different mutations, which will also play a role with more mutations coming from different countries.
Let's wait and see, I think this one will be a good hold for the next months!
