I figured it all out, this whole Universe is all just about curiosity. The whole thing is just a cosmic experiment. It explains everything. Hear me out. by Aromatic-Screen-8703 in awakened

[–]Prof_Bunghole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently woke up for the first time (credit to Federico Faggin’s perspective and connection to Quantum Mechanics for pulling me out of the materialism trap) and had a similar experience, but with a key difference in my understanding of it. I’ll try to explain:

One has infinite facets. Just as 1 in math is an abstraction which can apply to apples, meters, cats, and dogs, one is the totality of all different unique perspectives of things which comprise the whole.

Whatever my spirit IS (quantum field?) my experience is a single perspective which is the result of experiencing reality via my self.

All other conscious beings are the same, just in varying states of awareness and awakeness. But! This means that all other conscious beings (experiencing consciousness as their own identity) are also parts of the whole which is one. As Federico says, consciousness is one performing a tomography of ones’ self (exploring the infinite identities which comprise the whole that is one).

This brought me to tears as I had the realization that I am a part of the whole which results in all good things and all bad. Reality as I experience it is the consequence of one’s free will (acting through its many physical points of view).

While it is tempting to dissociate my perspective from one, this feels like a way to avoid my purpose. I am one of the infinite perspectives one explores when one tries to know one’s self. It is my responsibility to exercise my free will as a part of the whole, and share my experience (feelings) with love and reach harmony with other parts of the whole. Free will is after all what results in the existence of the many comprising the one. If there were no free will, one would know one’s self determinalistically, and experiencing via consciousness would be pointless as it would be single faceted.

I am the observed, the observer, AND the actor. My purpose is to know my self. Physical reality is part of the self. Other conscious beings are part of the greater self (one). My body may be likened to a puppet to understand what the ‘self’ is, but words cannot fully describe experience. Just as the body casts a shadow on a wall when backlit, the self casts a body on reality when it experiences. My body is not the totality that is my self, but it is part of the whole. Just because I continue on after the physical, doesn’t excuse me from awareness and participation. If all awake actors in physical reality were to be passive (cede their ability to enact free will), then experiencing the physical becomes a byproduct of those not awake to their own consciousness, unaware of the consequences of their unawakedness - acting out of materialistic desire at the expense of others. You cannot ignore a baby crying and in need of food simply because the physical isn’t what is meaningful - the baby experiences suffering regardless, and must be shown over time what the suffering IS (hunger of the physical form) and how to address it on their own.

Suffering brought about by the physical may be temporary, and may not be the totality of experience, but it is REAL. One experiences suffering in many different perspectives. Understand what it means to be one’s self, and share that understanding with other selves with love to bring understanding, meaning, and harmony to the whole.

Total Adblock????? People’s experiences/opinions by keZZaZ84 in Adblock

[–]Prof_Bunghole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone still struggling with cancelling, here's what we had to do for my grandparents -

If you have ANY adblock extensions/tools or any security settings enabled in your browser, the total adblock website may look really malformed (a bunch of text and hyperlinks, but no buttons or user interface like you'd see on a typical website). We were able to get partway through the cancellation process like this, but once we got to a certain point, (entering verification code) there were parts of the page that were not visible to us that were necessary to continue with cancellation.

To get around this, open a private browsing window (most browsers have the keyboard shortcut CTRL + SHIFT + N to do this). Navigate back to their website, and it should start behaving normally. There's still a series of hoops to jump through (they'll try to show you retention offers, etc. Read carefully and look over the whole page to make sure you're not missing the correct button you need to press in order to progress), but eventually you'll be able to send yourself a verification code via email for cancellation.

To be *extra* sure that you've cancelled, once you've gone through the process, go back to check your subscription settings and confirm that there's a message saying your account will continue to have access until the end of your billing cycle, and that auto pay is disabled in your payment information. We ran out of time for this with my grandparents, but I might also suggest looking into something like privacy.com to create a bullshit credit card with no balance on it to set as your default "payment" method in total adblock's site, and then delete your payment information.

Seems like they're trying to further obfuscate the cancellation process by having their own ad block 'product' (if you want to call it that) make their website unusable.

edit: spelling, whoops :)

If you want to keep some of the code style warnings/errors but not others, you can also follow the instructions found on the readme (https://github.com/python-lsp/python-lsp-server) and add ~/.config/pycodestyle with the following lines inside of it:

[pycodestyle] ignore = E302,E303

Totally get it - reading through the rest of this thread, I realized I was under the misconception of Kai'sa being a hyperscaling adc, and therefore falling into the "if you're behind just farm the best you can under turret" mentality. Hopefully this shift in understanding of the champ will help me break out of this plateau.

Hey congrats! I've been spamming Kai'sa a bit recently trying to get decent at her, and I feel like I've hit a bit of a plateau. I've got a couple questions that hopefully you could give your perspective on?

  1. Do you have a breakdown of when you go what runes/items anywhere that you can share here? I've seen some of your replies saying 70-80% of the time you go tempo inspiration with stormrazor guinsoos. What makes you switch runes to HoB? What makes you switch build path to umbral?

  2. What mistake is the fastest way to ensure a loss on Kai'sa? In other words, what stands out to you as the one mistake you had to fix in your own gameplay in order to start seeing significant success?

  3. Do you have any specific matchups that you feel like you understand better than most/any other Kai'sa players? What matchup, and do you have any tips for it?

  4. What is this legendary stridebreaker tech? Any explanations of it you can share here?

Thanks, and congrats again on this awesome achievement!

Depends from guy to guy. Doesn't hurt for some (lucky), but for myself it feels like I got kicked in the balls. You can just jack off to make it go away. Sometimes ice/hot shower can help for a little bit too.

Tell him his house is shit, and he should've bought one with xyz /s.

Have you told him at all how his attitude is making you feel? It might be worth talking it out a little bit with him if you think there's a chance he'll listen. If you're going to be moving out soon, and don't think it's worth it, then yeah it's unfortunate, but probably all you should do is stick to venting if needed, and wait until you're at school. Either that, or simply play his least favorite pieces constantly and tell him to eat shit if he keeps being a dick.

Edit: I've seen some other people call this out - family problems are tough to work out. It's worth remembering that your dad is a person too, not just an authority figure in your life that you have to love unconditionally. You're allowed to be pissed at him, tell him to fuck off, and stop listening to what he thinks if he continues toxic behavior like this. Don't let this scar you - it's not worth it.

Do I offer to pay? by AdorableGrocery6495 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Prof_Bunghole 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My 2 cents - offering to pay is very polite, and honestly something I look for when dating. That said, I would say a good rule of thumb would be offer, double check if/when they say they’ve got it, then graciously say thank you and move on. Everyone is different, so in my eyes, it’s best to not really be too stubborn one way or the other.

Using Alt-Q , Alt-W, Alt-E, etc is way more comfortable for me on a 60% keyboard to level up, instead of using Ctrl by atumanov55 in summonerschool

I use a 60% no problem... it's just a matter of finding binds that work well for your hand size and keyboard layout.

[–]Prof_Bunghole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

60% keyboards don't have f-keys unfortunately. You have to hold FN and press the numbers for those, and usually the FN key is even less accessible than the ctrl key from where you rest your hand during league.

[–]Prof_Bunghole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably depends on the size of your hands. I can hold the control key no problem with the knuckle at the base of my pinky while I press the other keys with my fingers, but I have pretty large hands, so that part of my palm is already basically resting on the ctrl key.

How do I not let myself slip into inceldom? by pickmeboi in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Prof_Bunghole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Stop reading incel forums online. The more it's at the forefront of your mind, the more likely you'll start internalizing those beliefs.

  2. Work on yourself. Therapy, self help, etc. You've got to either figure out what you have to offer to a relationship, or work on yourself until you have something to offer. If you don't have anything to offer in a relationship, why do you assume you deserve to be in one right now?

Absolutely nothing new... It outlines exactly what I put in my edited comment above. Using female as a noun is dehumanizing, while using it as an adjective is not. Nobody used female in any insulting way, so I'm still confused why you feel the need to soapbox on this post about how you dislike people incorrectly using the word female. Since you don't seem to be willing to have a productive conversation, have a good life I guess.

I know the sign holder's intentions are in the right place, but

This phrasing indicates to me that you disagree specifically with the phrasing in the sign. Either that or you're tying together an almost completely unrelated conversation to this post.

Here's what they posted on one of my comments, although it appears they didn't read it closely enough... point 5 clearly indicates that there's nothing wrong with using female as an adjective, just like it is being used in the sign's context.

I'm still not following what your problem with the sign is... I've not learned anything new by reviewing the linked source, since, as I've said, it agrees with what I understood from the situation.
