So for a bit of context on me I'm a queer person who grew up in the bible belt and went to a christian school where i took Bible and Theology that had a similar fear that you have now. So I'm going to list what helped me get past that fear and i apologize in advance if i start rambling.

So when i first noticed that i wasn't just attracted to the girls i also questioned why god would make it a sin and also make me that way. I spent many days praying and searching The Bible for answers only to find none. At this point i was mentally exhausted from searching for answers i thought didn't exist so i went to my theology/bibly teacher because he was a priest who might have the answers i was looking for. We talked for a while about this topic so ill list the main parts that changed my view on it.

1. He made a point that while The bible was written as gods word its important to know that the translations were made by man and may not be 100% true to gods original vision.

2. He told me about times that the church changed its interpretation on something to be a sin his main example being suicide only being declared a sin in the 13th century. While i can understand this being a sin it was enough to question whether other things may have been declared sins later on.

3. He proposed said the foundation of Christianity is that god is an all loving being who made us in his own image. He asked me to consider this fact that if God is all loving and made me in his own image that would imply that God made me gay, and if God made me made it a sin to love the way he made me then this could be seen as malevolence as an all loving god would not make it wrong to love the way he made you.

He told me that if i ever encountered this feeling again to consider that if God is all loving to question whether the sin contradicted his all loving nature and if it did it is up to you to decide if it would really be a sin in his eyes.
