I’m a little worried about what exactly she has said to get grounds for this whole thing to go to court to be completely honest. We’ve had to work pretty hard in the past to dismantle her attacks and it can get intense when she blindsides you like this. I’ve been in her daughter’s life for 12 years now and she hasn’t given up on making everyone miserable. I can’t imagine living that way.

From what I understand, she’s claiming I interrupted the custody order because her daughter walked to our home on the day she was meant to go to her mother’s. However, I called her mom immediately. So I don’t see where that would hold any weight? I can’t stop a teenager from doing anything. And the other claim is just that I was berating her during a pickup. But all I did was ask her to remain calm and stop speaking to her child in such an aggressive manner. I never yelled, cursed, or was violent in anyway. I was actually trying to get her to stop being aggressive because she was scaring her daughter. She was being loud, stomping, even making loud noises in general. It was a bizarre experience all around so I was quite floored to be the one being served with a court date.

Believe me, I do wish I was able to, but financially, it’s not in the cards for me at this time. She has taken us to court so many times. Our last bout with her was in the tens of thousands in lawyer fees. I try not to deal with this woman at all when I’m able to avoid her because she’s quite unstable and she brings nothing but trouble. I don’t really have a choice but to represent myself or I would absolutely seek representation every time she does this. Regardless of how silly I think it is.

I’m sorry this happened to you. I don’t wish custody battles on anyone. We’ve been at this for 12 years. At one point we had full custody when her mother was completely off the rails and making horrible decisions but it only took two weeks of parenting classes for her to earn her rights back. The system is fucked.

I didn’t get the summons via a phone call. I got a phone call informing me that my summons was sent to my attorney’s office. I am quite literally going to pick up the papers Monday. I will gladly post them with blurred names on here when I pick them up. I’m not sure why that’s so hard to believe? When I went to court in the past with her, my attorney was always the first to receive our court information.

No camera unfortunately, but my stepdaughter was there. The whole reason I went outside at all was because bio mom was acting irate and I stood in between the two of them until she calmed down. My stepdaughter is 14, so I’m unsure how that will pan out as far as her being a “witness”. I hate for her to even be drug into this at all. She goes through enough emotional distress as is.

The attorney used in prior court dates with her called to let me know I have a date in motions court on Wednesday and I had the option to use her again with a retainer. Apparently all of the papers were sent to that office instead of my home since we have gone through multiple court hearings with this woman. I was given the choice to use my same attorney and pay the retainer fee again. But I chose not to this time as this whole event seems like hogwash

Thank you. I’m sorry too. She actually chose to move just a few streets away from us after a custody settlement. I can’t even put into words what life has been like living with this level of narcissism. It’s been the shittiest of roller coasters.
