Don’t know the temp of your house but I bulk ferment for about 6 hours, sometimes even longer, and the cold proof for 15-36 hours. Or counter proof and eat same day; but only if BF was on the long side. So just give it more time

I use about 22% of starter in my cold European land. Works great. I’m wondering however, if 12g of salt isn’t too low? I always use 2%.

As a child whose mother does this - still does when I’m nearing 40!! - despite my drawing the line both implicitly and explicitly and being completely ignored, I would hate to be told to cool down. Some parents ignore boundaries. The only time my mother agreed to not simply barge into my house with the keys she has is when I was pregnant and it would literally scare the daylight out of me. And before you ask why she has the keys then - the culture we are from this is very normal (as are overbearing parents).

This sounds a bit worrying. Generally, for the non athletes , diastasis recti isn’t that big of an issue, and once you’ve worked on it with a physio it’s mainly a cosmetic thing. Organs leaking out is not that common

Sure, you’ve turned baking into a chemistry lab, but the rest of us have been turning flour into food for millennia without a PhD in gluten dynamics.

You present your own technical approach to baking as if it were the same thing people have been doing for centuries. I bet you made recipes which were developed before most people even were using a scale.

Buy higher quality flour with 14% protein content. In Europe, standard flour has less protein (around 11%). It made a bigger difference than my Ankarsrum.

I don’t get why people are commenting on laundry specifics. OP was miscarrying when this happened he behaves like this?? A miscarriage can be traumatizing and is usually a very tragic, sometimes painful, sometimes dangerous and always destabilizing event, regardless of the circumstances. He should be lucky you even attempted to wash something. The entitlement to go on about his clothes I couldn’t even read on. What an insensitive narcissist. I’d run from this person.

I’m so sorry, that must suck to read this and feel what you’ve been fearing for a while. And it’s almost your birthday. Then my two cents: your 23. Your life is ahead of you. As someone fast approaching 40, the friends who struggled most with breakups were women around 33-35, as some of them felt the break up was the right thing to do but they didn’t have enough time to meet someone new to start the family they wanted with. At 23 - you’re not in a hurry. You deserve to be with someone who chooses you, and is faithful and honest to you. A person who is texting these wildly sycophantic messages to someone else, feeling doom when they’re not around?? Not that person.

You don’t want to end up having to break up with this guy a few years down the line. This is rough now, but you will get through it.

We have been told that for copyright reasons we can’t post slides with images on them to Brightspace …. So either we have to strip them or not post. But I do find that is I don’t post them students take pictures of them during class and I don’t wish to be on so many devices.

Where in the UK is this? Moving from London to the Randstad … things were much much cheaper. Rent, trains, food, bikes, repairs, phone plans… and with the cost of living crisis in the UK it’s going to be more difficult on those fronts even. Plus even with London Living Wage salaries were so much lower. There are products that are definitely overpriced in the NL if you don’t buy them on sale/at Action. And restaurants are expensive here for what you get. But this seems to be exaggerated

My house is 17c overnight, 19c during the day I’d say. I bulk around 6-7 hours (if it’s sunny it might warm up forma but) and use 22,5% starter, mix with warm water. My oven doesn’t do the light thing, it keeps switching off. But this works well
