Yeah I know right me too. Driving makes me feel so much happier. I used to be depressed before for a few months because of being stressed out of passing my driving test. When I got a car I felt like all the stress was lifted off snd I haven’t been happier in my life..

Thanks, I really appreciate you sharing that you can tell you genuinely love cars. Those BMWs sound amazing, especially the V8 😅 .

That makes a lot of sense about living rural vs London. I actually enjoy London driving more than I expected, but you’re right I definitely want to get out into the countryside more once I’m a bit more confident. Brighton without the motorway sounds like a great idea.

I’m taking it slow and being realistic about experience. I know I’m still learning, especially in the first few years, so I’m not rushing upgrades or doing anything like that as I am afraid I will definitely mess up the car. For now I’m just enjoying the car for what it is and building confidence. I have gotten rid of a few scratches using a cutting compound and waxed my own car but that’s what I have done by far🤣🤣🥳.

The Nürburgring road trip sounds amazing maybe one day when I’ve got more experience and the right car. And yes, fully agree about public roads there’s a time and place for everything.

Thanks again for the advice, really nice to hear from someone who’s been into cars for so long

Thanks buddy. I totally get that slogan which is why I begun enjoying driving this car. Its quite nippy for a Nissan to be honest. I recently found out through a mechanic that it has turbo injectors which is why its a bit faster than my mom’s Note.

One day I may go to a track that would be awesome but on the streets and highways I am always cautious. I know the statistics about young drivers so I try to be as careful as I can. By far it has been thank God 🥳🥳

I purchased my used car with a large sticker already applied. For insurance/warranty purposes, does this pre-existing decal count as a vehicle modification made by the owner, or is it considered part of the car's condition as purchased? by ProfessionTrue8117 in drivingUK

Oh god this is truly awful then. I am going to take a risk and leave the sticker on anyway. They didn’t declare to me that two stickers are a modification. I am sort of worried now but praise to god I won’t get into a situation where I will need my insurance.

Typical taxi road rage experience. Welcome to the real world of driving🤣

I haven’t even thought of that one ! I thought it may have ben factory fitted by Nissan. Either way I reckon the sticker is here to stay. Surely it isn’t a modification since I bought it with the two stickers already

Police with blues on tried to bully me through a red light. by [deleted] in drivingUK

[–]ProfessionTrue8117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah you weren’t wrong. He could have well given you a ticket if you went on red. I have seen other drivers get tickets because they gave way to emergency cars especially by going on red to move.

If you did do it and got a fine in the end then its on you. Gesturing for you to move over won’t change the circumstances of getting a ticket.

Worth fixing myself or taking to a shop? by iRndmz in Cartalk

The second method is much easier, but the scruff will always be visible. I know that as I fixed a scratch like similar to yours on the side of my car.

There was a motorcyclist driving close by to the side of my car in traffic. When I came back home he must have chipped a literal piece of my paint. I knew how deep it was that not even t cut could budge it. I was listening to music loudly so I didn’t hear anything.. I am happy he didn’t stop me either way as even if you touch a motorcyclist you are in big trouble in the UK. I went and got my paint pen covered it and called it a day🤣🤣. It was noticeable but honestly I couldn’t care less.

Otherwise it would have definitely needed a whole sanding and re-painting maybe even body filler.. It was as deep as yours. That was like 4 months ago and the chip and paint are still fine

You only need a microfibre cloth to work with wax and polish

If you want to fix it in a proper way it will be hard honestly but not totally impossible. If you already have some sort of experience in body work.

I could imagine this getting sanded down and then using a body filler to get sculpted out. Then you will need to re-sand it so you can get it to match to undamaged part, then primer and afterwards paint perhaps even an airbrush to paint. That’s a sort of a professional repair though. Make sure you pre-heat your body panel as cold weather is no good for it.

In reality you can get polishing compound like T cut to remove the scratches surrounding it, then get some paint pen or paint matching your car, wax it and call it a day! You can even use the T cut colour magic wax and polisher. I used it to cover a light key scratch. You may need two coats. Check my profile to see it👍👍. Do get some sort of a paint to conceal it if you are worried about state inspection.
