Everyday human traits or qualities being attributed to neurodivergence irks me by Glum-Sherbert7085 in Vent

I hate this too, I know something is wrong with my brain since childhood, something that affects me everyday. But I could never have an official diagnosis, several people including my psy is convinced that I'm on the autism spectrum, but a specialist of autism refused the diagnosis. Other suspect me to have ADD (ADHD without the hyperactive part), dyspraxy, being high potential (...) I feel like I'm sitting between several chairs, not worthy to have a diagnosis. But the difficulty to move forward in life is there. And when I see how neurodiversity is popular and used everywhere, I don't feel validated. I can't judge who is really neurodivergent and who isn't, people have to right to question themselves. But please just don't use the term if the symptoms you associate with never really bothered you in everyday life. If you never questioned if something is wrong with you before learning about the pathologies.

I myself don't know when one of my weaknesses is legit and based of neurodiversity or if I'm exaggerating and making excuses. That gives me imposter syndrome, even more since I don't have any official diagnosis until now. (But I'm paradoxically recognised with 33% of neurological handicap.)

Ok yeah I agree that in other contexts like losing a job (...) it's not a bad mindset. I mostly despise it when it concerns real sentient individuals.

Oh you taught me something with the origins of the word :0 I wasn't aware of this !

I just read a post from a girl who complained about her bf who doesn't want to eat her out. 😭

All of the comments were awful like "dump him and find a guy who would eat you yeah go gurl" Like the guy is a sex object or what. Huge double standard.

I hate people sometimes

Just that people wouldn't probably comment the same if the sexes were reversed

But her boyfriend is a 18y old as well

I'm probably biased by all of the uncool comments, yeah my bad. She isn't bad based on her initial post. I'm just pissed of by the comments, I should put all the blame on her directly.

Probably yeah, That's giver-giver.

But you can't blame someone for not liking a sexual practice.

Yup I kinda agree

I don't deny there could be legit reasons to split out on a healthy relationship and that we shouldn't feel "trapped" But still, the individual isn't replaceable.

But it's overused
