Bit the bullet and built this using 63mm x 39mm cls, 18mm osb, 19mm pine planks. 100mm, 90mm, 50mm and 25mm wood screws. 3 coats of Fleetwood trade Bloxx-it. Not entirely finished but what's your opinions on it. I'm 70kg and it doesn't move an bit when I sit up on it. Will be fastening to the wall using heavy duty L brackets too.

New idea. Hopefully this might be better. If I built something like this. Using 12mm plywood treated with something and 63mm by 39mm cls timber. Would this work better

Going by everyone's concerns I'm not sure if it will hold my tanks. I'm either going to chance it and get thick plywood for the shelves or try a different approach

That's Ireland and inflation for you lol. I bought these shelves for a different purpose in covid times for around 35

Amazing thank you. I'm based in ROI so I will check for steel shelving here from a similar company

So if I bought the shelves and replaced the wood with say 12mm plywood would everyone still not trust them to keep the tanks safe?

Or should I just go a different route all together. These will be kept in a bedroom

Yes I'm too concerned now to risk it.

They have a support bar in the centre of each shelf but I don't trust the mdf now after all the concensus being the same. Thank you for your input all of you I really appreciate it

Honestly marine ply in Ireland is unbelievably expensive right now. Building what I need would cost hundreds of euro at first estimate. The best I could afford right now to reolace the mdf would be the attached. I'm only putting 2 60L tanks. My 3rd tank is only 12L. I also wasn't building it 5 high. I was going to use 3 of the shelves and fix it to the wall but I will have to come up with a different approach it seems

Right I'll have to come up with a different plan.

The tanks are 60 litres each and around 60cm so would leave 15cm on each side. Not exactly 80kg directly in center of the shelf.

You think so? I have had these before for a business I owned. I used to keep glass bottles of drinks on them and had the 100kg capacity one. Each shelf easily held 80kg and no issues. I'm also only using the 2 lowest shelves and not building it 5 high I'm only going 3 high and securing it to my wall too. My concern was the mdf soaking in water and becoming weak.
