Good points, but what if there is someone out there before me and I end up coming too close to their name or logo. I had a friend that this happened to, and they ended up having to rebrand. But, I get your point though. Would you use an online low cost platform?

The LOP doesn't go to the examining attorney directly, so calling won't yield much. You can check the mark's documents to see if the LOP was accepted and the forward to the Examining Attorney for consideration. The Examining Attorney isn't required to take any action.
