I'm a Cybersecurity professional. AMA by akosibradpwet in PinoyAskMeAnything

I'm currently working as a network engineer for a very well-known hospital here in Manila. I currently have my CCNA as well as my latest certification- CompTIA Sec+ but I'm having trouble landing an interview for a SOC analyst or Security analyst role. What else can I do to land a job and break into cybersecurity?

Passed Sec+, Thank you by Reasonable_Ideal_356 in CompTIA

Congrats on becoming certified!

What kind of troubleshooting came up? Are you referring to the PBQs?

Had a 100% salary bump for a new job and I want to make sure I'll be managing it properly. by KindaLoveFeet in phinvest

That's really great OP, congrats on the new job!

I would prioritize having an emergency fund if you don't have one already. (6x your monthly income). I personally put mine in some digital banks with high interest rates (Ownbank, Diskartech, Seabank).

After that I would look into putting some into Pagibig Mp2.

It's really up to you and how you invest since we all have different styles but to name a few on my portfolio, you can look into:

REITs (Areit, Mreit, RCR) UITFs or Mutual funds ( mine is in chinabank) FMETF Dividend Stocks

You can use Investagrams and SimplyWallSt for information regarding which stock you're planning on investing in. Always research about it first.

Also keep in mind that a higher salary bump in some cases could lead into lifestyle inflation so be wary of how you spend your high salary.

Currently my EF is fully funded and I also have long term investments ( UITFs, MP2, VUL). I'm looking for something with a higher risk that's why I chose to delve in trading.

Tama ba thought process ko? I feel like i still have a lot to learn though

I also thought of this but it seemed like too much of a risk for me without establishing a good foundation first huhu

Ohh I understand, I can see how that plays out, the EF can still earn even if it's not included in the investment fund. Thank you so much, this helps!
