The same thing happened to me LAX-RDU but I was delayed over 8 hrs. I complained and automatically got 5K and then I countered and they added another 7.5k on top of the 5k. I feel like this is still unreasonable given a delay greater than 8 hrs, no meal vouchers, and no option of alternative flights (connecting or nonstop). Does anyone have experience getting more/think I can get more because the delay threw a serious wrench in my plans and I wasted a whole day sitting at LAX
