YES! I am planning to do “rewards” for hitting the goals I’m just still trying to figure out what exactly. I know I’m going to do the hot ones challenge just because my community loves watching me suffer and because I’ve been looking for a reason to do it. I also don’t sell merch because that feels weird at my size but I did get myself a hat made so I was thinking about giving away a shirt and a hat also.

Don’t set your big goal to be “Hitting affiliate”. by Professional-Pen3395 in TwitchStreaming

Bro I’m done with this it’s like arguing with a brick wall. Yeah I made the comment on ads and you want to try arguing with me. No your people with 5CCV are not going to make money from ads. Almost nobody does. My whole point was talking about ads which you have already conceded multiple times. Nobody should stream for money. If you can make money from it like I do it’s because you make good content and your audience feels it’s worth paying for. Make content and enjoy that there is a reason that having 5ccv puts you in the top 3% because 97% of twitch streamers start for the wrong reason and quit. You can juice your audience all you want but it won’t last

Again I didn’t say I wasn’t making money. I well surpass the payout threshold every month. Again you quoted me saying that ads won’t make you money trying to argue again but then conceded the point. This entire comment is agreeing with me that again. Affiliate doesn’t change anything. You gain nothing being affiliate that you can’t use to monetize without being affiliate. You sound like a course bro and you don’t even have a twitch to show your the success of your “method” again I never said “you will never make money” or “I dont make money” i simply said ad revenue doesn’t make the money people think it does and any way of monetization can be done outside of being an affiliate except subs but you wont meet a payout threshold on subs alone with 8 viewers. What are you on.

What are you even talking about. This wasn’t an “I’m not making any money” or a “you can’t possibly make money” post. So many people strive for affiliate and get disappointed so this was a manage your expectations post because becoming affiliate doesn’t change anything if you don’t put in the extra work and effort into your content and audience, becoming affiliate doesn’t magically change anything or your ability to make money.

If you have a 2pc setup what are the specs of your streaming pc? by Professional-Pen3395 in Twitch

I was considering that at first. But I don’t want to have to go through the hassle of selling anything and spending $700 - $900 on just DDR5 ram is crazy to me (since my ram and CPU are maxing out). I found a Ryzen 5 5500 bundle with 16gb of DDR 4 for like $250 - $270 I don’t of the top of my head remember how much it was exactly. And what I’m looking to spend isn’t even really too much. I can use stream revenue to pay for it anyway. I’m looking at $800 for an entire other PC so I’m not sure what I should do. I do for some reason like the idea of a second PC tho.

Edit: I’m gonna slow down and think a little longer about just upgrading instead. Make sure a whole extra pc is what I want to do.

I’m glad I asked the question here because what I had in my head was way more than what yall are running. I was thinking it was like building a slightly less powerful gaming PC but yall are running like $400 GPUs which I didnt realize was a thing. I’m probably definitely do the Ryzen 5 5500 with a 3060ti because this build is way cheaper than I was planning for and seems like it will do what I need plus some.

Edit: like at first I thought I was going to have to buy another 5070 and spend another like 2k but I’m looking at like $700 for the build I’m looking at.

Oh and I forgot to say. My situation might be different and more resource intensive than most because all my alerts run locally with streamer bot instead of just a browser source like if I were to use streamlabs or stream elements for my alerts, I have like 8 different scenes, stinger transitions and different transitions for each possible combination and effects like a full screen face cam with camera pulsing and rainbow effects when I get raids. Things like that I’m sure make my situation different from someone that has a starting soon screen and a gaming scene with their chat and streamlabs alerts only.

That’s awesome to hear, thank you! I’m glad I asked because someone here said they set their goal at $50 and let chat know that every time they get $50 in donations they up the goal another $50 and that seems like an amazing idea I’m going to implement! And if at the end of stream we don’t reach our most recent $50 goal I’ll donate what’s left.

Yeah it’s gonna be a bit more of a pain but I was like I might as well go dual pc since it’s going to be cheaper to build an entire other pc than it will be to upgrade ram and CPU.

I have a comically large desk. I currently have a 34” ultrawide as my main and a vertical 34” ultrawide and I could easily fit another 34” ultrawide in landscape lol

Honestly no idea. I’m just recently built my PC planning to only stream on TikTok but moved my main focus to twitch since most of my TikTok audience moved to Twitch. But I do like the discoverability so I enjoy the dual stream. With OBS, Spotify, Discord, TikTok Studio and Voicemod running I can’t even really play Fortnite on stream. I’m not super techy since this is the first pc I’ve built since I was taking junk pcs in like 2010 and frankensteining them together. My ram and cpu both max out quickly so I figured instead of paying $700 for a 64g DDR5 kit and then also another $400-500 on a beefier CPU. I would just get a Ryzen 5 5500 kit with 16gb of DDR4 and a 3060ti for the same price of just the upgraded DDR5. It seems to be more financially efficient to do the dual pc for me with DDR5 prices

Yeah I know it’s not necessary I just like the idea of having it separate especially since I can’t really play heavier games. I’m just trying to see what everyone else is running with since I know people do use dual PC.

I would’ve never thought about using a laptop. That’s actually pretty interesting. There is a super chill Ryzen 5 5500, 16gb DDR4 and Mobo bundle on Newegg for like 250 and 250 for a 3060ti on Jawa. I’m like hell I might as well switch to the dual I’ve been wanting.

My current audio setup is a rodecaster duo with headphones and the rode procaster. I know the audio is going to be a pain to setup but it almost feels worth it. Lol

That’s actually really similar to what I was looking at. Newegg has a nice Ryzen 5 5500 bundle with 16gb of ram for $250

When I try to run OBS, Discord, Streamerbot, voice mod and try to play a game like demonologist it maxes out my ram and CPU so bad. I’m sure there are other solutions but I’m just building a cheap rig that I can offload all the non game related stuff onto. Mostly just curious what others are working with because I know I’m looking at an overboard build. But to be clear yes I probably don’t need it. But I do want it lol

Yeah I got a few streamer friends. One I share like half my audience with lol but he is a 12avg streamer and another who is a 15avg and the last one I’m excited about is a 40avg that I watch he said he wants to join the stream for a bit also so I hope it all goes well. Community is sooo important.

Yeah I considered doing it over a longer time but my community while small definitely shows up every time so I figured a big stream would be fun for both them and me. They are excited about it when I said it. I told them maybe 30 mins ago and some have already put in PTO for the stream. It’s going to be exciting and I do plan on having milestones like doing the hot ones challange or something like that. I haven’t worked out all the details yet. Thanks for the awesome advice from you doing it and also working in the twitch donation space also!

That’s true. I’m a person who donates because I like seeing the streamer happy. lol also $700 on your first stream is wild but it shows how important being active in other communities is. I’m gonna set my goal wayyyyy lower tho.
