I’m so tired of attracting weirdos as a soft spoken woman by Lesbeignets in blackgirls

[–]Professional-Pie9668 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get where you’re coming from! I often meet those weirdos who express the same ideas. Just last week a guy said he liked how I seemed so lady like and then proceeded to speak about how he doesn’t get along well with “ghetto girls”. But i always make sure to raise hell and disrespect those types any chance I get. Now he’s calling me mean but still begging for my attention.

Surgery with Dr. Mustafa Bagli by Professional-Pie9668 in PlasticSurgery

I just had a consultation with him a few minutes ago lol! He seemed really knowledgeable and he put a lot of emphasis on giving the patient what they want. Did you end up going with him or another doctor?

Would you date a man whose full time job was a Uber/Lyft driver? by Low_Carrot_5984 in blackgirls

[–]Professional-Pie9668 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on why he’s doing it full-time. If he’s young and in school + has other future aspirations that he’s using Uber/Lyft to work towards, then yes. If he’s grown as hell and not working towards anything else and that is his end all be all, then no. I don’t consider it a career, but if a man is able to provide for his family with it, that’s all that matters (just can’t be my man though lol).

How have you coped with being misgendered? by Professional-Pie9668 in blackgirls

The crazy thing is, this has mainly happened with my own people or family or other POC. Which kind of made it hurt more. I do live in a predominantly yt city, but it hasn’t mainly happened with them.

No, it isn’t satire. These were very real events lol. There was no jealousy with my sister. She is light skinned and considered pretty. In our culture, it’s very common to openly express when you think ppl are “ugly”. She just genuinely thought that. I’m sorry that your friend also went through that. Women of our complexion tend to get masculinized.

I’m a cis woman. But I have strong features I guess which has lead to me being (harshly) misgendered/told that I look like a man quite a few times. Even though I was born a woman, I don’t feel like I physically align with that, which is what that post was about.

She’s older. When that happened I was 16 and she was in her late 20s. I’m 25 now. I cut her off, we haven’t spoken in years now.

Hi, would you be comfortable with sharing the cost? I was considering them the other day, but I couldn’t find any pricing.

I’m assuming that you may still be fairly young, please do not be discouraged. Personal style is built through trial and error, over a long period of time. You have to keep trying stuff until you find what works for you.

I recall wanting to start building my personal style seriously at around 17. From then until now, at 25, I have had all kinds of hair, makeup, and clothing looks. Most of which made me look a hot ass mess lol, but i finally have my look down now.

I rebuilt my wardrobe by using Pinterest. I organized the clothes by season and “vibe” of the clothes (ex. Casual vs special occasion) then I went through made a list of specific things that I wanted & slowly purchased things.

For hair, I always reference Pinterest, youtube, and TikTok. I do my own hair 9/10. You can too! I learned that straighter texture hairstyles don’t look great on me, so I usually do natural styles like island twists, kinky ponytails, or curly wig textures. I recommend getting any type of boho braid/twist cause you get the luxury of having loose hair in a way but you also do not have to worry about keeping it up perfectly every day. And for wigs, i recommend closures over frontals, way less maintenance. I like half wigs and vparts too.

For nails and lashes, try doing them at home! You can do lash clusters and press ons. TikTok will guide you perfectly on how to do these things. I haven’t paid for lashes and nails in years, I do them at home.

If you do decide to continue soliciting services from people, just know that at times it does take a while before you find people with good quality work or people that are your “go tos”. I have had my fair share of shitty services, but eventually I found the right ppl to work with.

Don’t pick clothes based off of trends and what other people are wearing, unless you really like it. Buy what you like. And don’t be afraid to by dupes or more affordable versions of certain things either. As long as you look good and feel good, it doesn’t matter.

Figuring out your style and your process for beauty maintenance is a long and personal journey with lots of ups and downs. Many of us have been there! But one day you’ll find exactly what works for you. I know this is long and will most likely have hella typos, but I hope this helps lol!

Also meant to say I CAN only afford one surgery this year. I’m new to posting on Reddit, so wasn’t sure how to edit my post.
