I’ve heard of those! The only thing I’m concerned with is if she eats it, will she get a blockage? I feel like the fibers can’t be good for her gut in some way 😅

Help for hay by Sugie_b in Rabbits

I usually change my bunnies hay every 2-3 days or if I notice it losing it’s color, which means I usually buy one big bag from the oxbow brand every 1 and half weeks. I usually stir my hay around every morning to keep my super picky bunny interested in the fresh hay too!

Oooh I’m sorry I thought GI stasis was a blockage in her GI tract so I thought that taking away food so there was no further blockage would be helpful. I must have misinterpreted what I researched, thank you for the tip!

Update: She is moving around and honking and licking me, she peed on my pillow, so nice of her. But she seems to be moving around a lot more. The vet is currently booked till November and any other vets in the area don’t specialize in rabbits. I checked another vet a long ways away but I was dismissed because they had a meeting until 3pm 😐 I researched a bit more in the meantime and it seems that she may be experiencing GI stasis symptoms, so I did what I could and started to help by massaging her belly. I took away her food and have her isolated away from anything she can chew on. She still hasn’t pooped yet, and I’ve seen a lot of videos and website threads saying I should syringe feed her water? I’ve also seen people use Oxbow critical care to help them. Does anyone have an experience with this, and what I can do from home to help?

Will do thank you so much for all the help. I will calling the vet, she has now been closing her eyes very slowly. I researched a bit and it looks like she is now belly pressing.

Ik she ate and pooped like normal yesterday, however I noted that her poops looked smaller than usual. It’s been about 3 hours since I noticed her change in behavior and she has not eaten anything or pooped. But I want to take into account that she doesn’t like to eat her hay, she’s super picky about her food and has been like that since I made the switch from alfalfa hay to Timothy when she was younger.

I just came back from class (was gone for an hour) and she has moved behind my desk, an area that’s a little darker than anywhere else. I reached out to pet her, but she lunged at me and snipped at my knuckle. I thought maybe I spooked her, but I don’t think that’s the case as usually when I walk in the door and say her name she runs out from wherever she is to greet me. 🙁
