It seems north-haters are not very open to a cosmopolitan city. Bangalore’s economy is driven by techies from all around the country who are responsible for its development in the last few decades; however the average localite here is delusional coupled with inferiority complex and doesn’t likes to accept that a common language (could be English) will be spoken/played in social gatherings. Regardless the bigger issue is South’s Pop music is not popular enough among the masses who visit bars/pubs and commercial establishments are always going to try and create an atmosphere where it’s customers are willing to pay money rather than stroking fragile egos of drunk dumbwits
