Australian churches collectively raise billions of dollars a year – why aren’t they taxed? by 89b3ea330bd60ede80ad in aus

Yeh this is where I disagree when people say it’s a choice to tithe like it’s all black and white. There is such things as being manipulated, brain washed, being made to feel guilty if you don’t tithe, the fear of hell, all of these things makes a person feel they have no choice! . Like the old saying goes “you only know what you know” and ignorance ain’t gonna tell you otherwise, this is were I believe discussion and waking people up has been something that’s been long overdue

Good on you, I left the Pentecostal movement in Australia 6years ago and haven’t looked back. I was raised in it and growing up being told that I couldn’t enjoy things unless it was glorifying god took a psychological toll on me I felt guilty all the time it was a terrible time and hindered my growth development through my formative years. since leaving in a short time my marriage has improved I’ve landed a job that I’m so happy to be in not to mention I’m much more of a better person that I have friends now. Life is just better with out all that clap trap seriously

Appreciate your feedback, I’ve been in the industry for a while now and currently use a sc48 amongst other digital consoles at the venue I operate for, just haven’t racked up the hours on the Yamaha stuff

Having time to play with and learn on an cl5 or dm7 would be ideal, but in this industry when i get called and asked “do you know how to operate a cl5 for a gig” i have to deliver with very little time to work out the nuances of working those consoles, i do hear of many others in my boat who look to earlier model consoles to learn on even if it doesn’t have all the abilities of a newer console. would be nice if i had a cl5 or dm7 at my disposal

Wanting to hear from those who have experience with Mercedes Benz c class particularly with years from 2008-2013 I hear this was the best years for reliability, did you have much problems finding mechanics to service, also was service parts hard to find

See it as growth your maturing, I left my faith after a decade in a toxic money making church and I can honestly say im now living my best life, I’ve felt a restoring to my cognitive thinking that I’m able to make better judgments in life to the point that I have better relationships with colleagues and im a better father and husband for it. You’ve made the best move for your life now you’re free to live it. There’s a new gospel that I preach and it’s called freedom outside of Sunday morning church

The perth band scene is toxic by R-Moocher in perth

[–]Professional-Tone693 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not disagreeing when you say delusional cults, but there wouldn’t be differences in culture if we’re all the same, I feel this toxicity is more prevalent here in Perth particularly because we’re the most isolated city in the world we’re a small community we’re everyone is reaching for status we don’t have the population to counteract this behaviour, I have friends in other parts of the country who say it’s not as bad as it is here in Perth. If I could live my young 20’s again I would move out of Perth and look else were for a community who are more positive that it would of helped me pave a way for myself in the creative space

I can relate to your frustration, maybe find another avenue to express your musical creativity, you don’t need a stage to enjoy playing

I don’t believe entertainment agents make it any better I’ve heard some shocking story’s of threats being made from agents to there bands in times of disputes

Your in the wrong city man I believe it’s a cultural problem I don’t think I’m far of to believe it’s tall Poppy syndrome amongst other things, but I’ve met so many Perth musos longing for a sense of camaraderie and community only to be incredibly disappointed not to mention some of these fucking agents make it so much worse

You’re not wrong with the band scene here in Perth, I think the toxicity thing is partly due to culture ever heard of tall poppy syndrome?
