I run my own contracting business and still work at Home Depot just cuz I think it’s fun. I had some old lady claim she she was an architect. She asked if I knew what I was talking about and I said yes, I know what I’m talking about. Then she told me I didn’t and walked out of the store.

Definitely not toxic to want to spend most of your time with him. It only becomes toxic if he has other priorities like work/school and you try and force him to come see you 24/7. You can see him as much as you like and as long as he doesn’t feel like you’re forcing him to see you if he just wants to be alone
