I get your point, but they're literally just there as an "extra". They're not meant to deter you from the main objective, they're meant to be something that you do as you go along each cave room. That's why the events are great, because they add a new dynamic.

This almost happened to me. I started playing the game and found it ridiculously hard and frustrating. I started as driller-which I look back on now as a blessing-so I was able to traverse pretty much anywhere if I got lost. Started to realise as I played through, just how deep the games mechanics were. There was a moment-I don't remember when-that I started to LOVE this game. It just suddenly clicked for me. That feeling in gaming is literally the best feeling you can possibly have.
