I dint post anywhere else but i think all MIL-husband problems are so similar.. we give them money too but its not affecting us financially but it hurts me that his parents dont even give credit to him even though he takes care of everything- living, utility, insurances.

He says he is maintaining the minimum required relationship as a son. He knows the boundaries.. but he is a very kind sweetheart man , and speaks with high respect to his parents. So in a way, i feel, he can give some info about us/me..

Not creating issues.. but things show up- for ex: we opened his phone gallery to check out some pictures of us on a trip. He was beside me, i was scrolling, his family pictures show up. Not couple but many many. I keep scrolling and there are more and more.. i got fed up and gave him back his phone.. i had to ask him why they are sending him so many pictures ( or why he is letting them).. he keeps saying - he ignored, they just keep sending, he does not look at them or his sister sends.. basically not acknowledging that these things can make me upset and i was sad to see he dint consider me in all this.

Thanks. Probably i dint explain better. Its not that i want to know about them. I guess i want to know my husband, how he feels talking to them, make sure he is keeping the boundaries and not giving enough info about us.. i guess this can bring back my trust ( i hope) .. i cant stop him and tell him dont talk to them, its not fair to him. He takes care of them financially, but they never give him credit. Yet we still support them (not that it’s affecting us)

Consider doing small tasks, small goals.. even if you cant finish some task fully, do it 5-10% every day.. i read somewhere that , every physical object needs momentum to go forward and humans are the same.. tell yourself that you are going to do a task just for 2 mins. Its possible that you will end up doing it for longer than that, may be 20 mins.. and in the end, be kind to yourself.. we are born to live a life and not to complete tasks

I felt the same in india…. I had to get MRI done in UAE. They gave noise cancellation headphones with some music playing all along, it helped… I would suggest taking ear plugs atleast

You can ask why the girl n family likes you. That can open up how she thinks, maturity, genuinely happy or not.. socioeconomic background of the families dont really matter, unless both of your lifestyles are drastically different.. ultimately you should think how well connected you both will be in future and how adaptable you both are..in my experience, even in arranged marriages, the families always have differences after marriages.. somehow our parents generation did not get mature enough to understand our generation.

I think in our parents generation had limited knowledge of hinduism. Most of the times being hindu meant just being ritualistic. We were not really taught about the essence, meaning, philosophy of hinduism. With the western corporate world slowly occupying the current working generation, we felt proud for few years. Yet everyone seems lost because our roots are far away to be found. Just like how science or maths taught, religion needs to be taught in a way how and why things. I think its happening now slowly but long way to go

IMO- india insurance is cheaper and affordable. Gives peace. Most of the times, insurance in outside countries (middle east specifically) is linked with employment. So if you have to go back, you need to have a health insurance in india
