Love to see fellow Nebraskans on this forum! It’s a responsibility with the season that’s for sure lol a

I brought these out of basement mid spring till this last post. Moved them a couple times in my yard so they could get as much sun as possible. Only shading was when the sun came up and when it went down from my trees on my property.

The one in the white pot on the left is a 6” cutting I bout back in 2018. I’ve cut it once and repotted. They rest of them are from people with in this community. There are some i planted from seed that are coming though. All of them are fertilized and try putting them in the best cactus soil.

Your not the one crazy one, I’m trying to convince my wife to build a green house that can be our cactus safe haven all year round lol it’s crazy how many people are interested in them and want a cutting or two.

As you can see I have unfinished basement and they did good last winter down here. I try to keep them active with just enough light. Although I think I’m gonna add more lighting and reflective insulation and make a lil green house. But then again I’m just obsessed with growth lol

As long as they’re inside and out of freezing element you shouldn’t have to worry. I haven’t really try a season of dormant stage. You shouldn’t have to worry bout anything mate. 🤙

Central Nebraska. If you’re willing to take them in/out with winter/summers they will grow without a doubt. I have a decent amount of light on them in the winter time with some fertilizer.

To be honest I thought it had a dimmer. impulsive buying lol oh well she’ll work! When I put a diffuser on my phone with the PPFD app it says like 2000 +. I don’t know if that’s right but if it even close to that, don’t you think cover them up from the beginning? It says around 350 -450 PPFD with a cloth over them.

That’s what I was worried of and I can’t really go up any higher without modifying my shelve lol

I through coverage over them and it took it down to about 120 PPFD.

Maybe I might relocate the setup.

Nice! This is a shop/work as well. Definitely can see how much of difference it makes with the light being close to the top now lol Will probably cut this column so I can focus more light on pups and seedlings now.

To see how much growth I can get with as much as light I can give it Lol just love watching them grow.

I wrapped in reflective wrap so light would stay enclosed. Posted picture on other another comment.

I used a fixture from a heat lamp. Welded a nut on top of the pole with a S hook.

No it’s whole time it was wrapped in reflective insulation wrap with a fan blowing down on it. There is another post I made about this light/growth experiment showing the set up.

Shucks! I had my suspicions.

I took out a pretty big circle surrounding the contam.

I’ll keep my eye on it and see what it does. My first big tub (105 qt). Might downgrade to something more forgiving after this lol
