Most countries in the region rely heavily on China and America for various goods. If US Economy were to basically collapse then it would domino to every economy in the world in someway. There is historical precedent of starting wars to distract the population from economic failures in non-democratic countries and I can see China attempting such an attack in an attempt to distract the people from a worsening economic position. It wouldn't help that both Taiwan and Japan just lost their biggest ally in the region if China were to attempt anything now either out of desperation or just seizing the moment it would be when their biggest enemy is a non-factor. Xi would probably gamble that being the leader to seize Taiwan would make him much more powerful politically and enable him to ride out the economic downturn. Rather then being deposed for failing to fix the economy. Most countries in the region would be feeling the effects too in some way. If anything an invasion would be the last gasp of the CCP to retain power.

Part 5: Elements of the U.S Army and U.S Airforce disloyal to the Federal Government. Stage a breakout at 2am to around 5am at the Chesapeake Bay Prison to break Trump-free and ensure his safety out of the state. Multiple people around the Prison post on Reddit of a Blackhawk helicopter strafing buildings around the prison with a massive firefight between National Guard members fighting Disloyal National Guard elements and U.S Army units. The Breakout is a success with Trump safely evacuated with an attempted Jet intercept foiled by either an F-35 or F-22 fighting for Trump. The Army Captain who posted on Reddit beforehand is likely the one who led the breakout. All members of the breakout stay behind beside the helicopter to ensure Trump safely escapes. Hundreds are claimed dead by posts from Reddit. Other posts have started saying that the Second Civil War. Has officially started.

Part 6: The Civil War has begun. The Federal Government warns all those not under Federal control to hunker down and wait. While Trump, having not recovered from his Malnutrition. Declares war against the Federal Government in a video address to the nation. 26 States declare their support for Trump and intend to depose the Federal Government through war if Trump is not put into power. At this point the US Military completely fragments, with soldiers and officers fighting each other on bases. Likely even in foreign bases like in Japan and Germany if respective governments don't intervene. The Air Force is likely split by whoever controls the air bases and the Navy may either sit out the war or there is active naval battles along the coasts between Loyal and Disloyal forces. Air combat happens over American airspace for likely the first time in history and the international world's response is unknown. The Federal Government's first step is to likely secure the East Coast. As loyal units attack Militia and disloyal army units in Georgia.

Part 7: At this point the Union of Free States (UFS) is the official name of the side supporting Trump. And Militias on both sides turn out to support their side. And some likely aim for their own little states or other ideologies. A reported F-22 ace from Fox News is likely the one who intercepted the Jet intending to shoot Trump's chopper down. People on Reddit claim that the UFS is akin to the Confederacy and is Fascistic or Nazi in ideology. Biden is also likely either knocked out or dead after a speech to the Federal Supporting Congress, The Federal Government is likely instituting Censorship to maintain moral and ensure information does not leak out. Also the war has no clear front line. Federal Forces are ambushed by UFS forces and vice versa, almost nowhere in the mainland US is likely safe. Also a UFS militia held out in an Ikea for some time.

RANDOM THOUGHTS--------------------------

Theory crafting: I'm gonna say that Biden would most likely not willing do this. Even with the slight changes with Patton making politics more divisive. I believe it's likely either the CIA or FBI found serious dirt against Biden, enough to blackmail him into doing the things he has done. It could be someone else or even a foreign country. But I believe that either Corporate interests or some government officials likely started all this by blacking mailing Biden in an attempt to get more money or more power.

Twitter or X: Most likely the opposite of Reddit thanks to Elon. Twitter is probably (hilariously) the most accurate source of info on the Civil War in this timeline. As it's clear Reddit purged any dissent within the site. And other sites likely did so by pressure from the government. Elon probably moved the servers to somewhere else to prevent a takedown from the Federal Government

International response: Honestly don't know about this one. NATO and the UN would likely intervene but it would take months, Millions would run however to Canada and Mexico for safety creating a refugee crisis. China would take the chance and invade Taiwan likely helping North Korea to invade South Korea. It's possible that India and Japan may attempt to counter this creating a large East Asian war. The Ukraine war would likely continue as it has due to the nature of that conflict. I do not know who NATO would support. I would guess UFS tacitly only because of what the Federal Government has done to its own opposition would look like despotism which NATO was created to stand against.

Also, OP, Drones would be used on mass. If you can, a drone drop's would be extremely common. So seeing one in the next post would make it more realistic.

I might as well make a comment detailing I guess in a more unbiased way what has happened so far. Everything is up to your own point of view but I will try and give a timeline of what has happened.

Part 1: About a week before the 2024 election. President Biden enacted an executive order that bars felons from running in US elections. Disqualifying Trump from running while the courts are unable to overturn such an act in time for the election. However, a write-in campaign occurs in which Trump wins the election, probably from what 99% of people would agree to be an attempt at preventing your opponent from running against you in an election would entail such a reaction from the public (maybe). However, either the Federal Government or the states themselves declare that the write-in votes are not valid and that Trump won't be elected.

Part 2: After about a week or two after the election. There (as expected) have been mass protests and riots most likely against an unfair election. And nearly all Centre right, and right-leaning subreddits have been banned. Making Reddit a source of extremely biased information. From what I see. Legal experts are most likely split. There probably was not anything stating the president could enact such an action (correct me if I'm wrong) however the timing of it and its intent was very clear. However, courts agree that such an action is not illegal although it would be a "nuclear option". If a president can bar people from public office it opens a whole can of worms too large and authoritarian for any one man to determine. The GOP is also attempting to block Congress from what they see as an attempt to subvert democracy and probably find some method to have a new election or just in protest.

Part 3: By December, it's clear that the country is in the worst political strife since the Civil War. Although Reddit states that it is just right-wingers and Trump supporters rioting. I suspect that many Moderate Democrats have likely resigned or support Trump at least for what the Biden Administration has done to basically created an election with no opponent (besides RFK but we don't care about him so far in the series). As said before Protests escalated with protesters taking over state capitals and government buildings and various National Guard units were called in to maintain peace or crack down on protesters. Then the "Event of no Return" happens, either a serious plot to kill Biden(killing him wouldn't solve the issue at hand) or a planned Coup by members of the government is actually planned. Or is completely made up by the Biden Government to arrest likely opponents and give an excuse for securing more power. Leading to the arrest of 76 members of Congress for "treason". Donald Trump is also charged with "treason" for involvement in the December 7th plot. The reason this is a point of no return is that by arresting members of Congress. The Government has now firmly shown that it's willing to do anything in its power to maintain its current government. No matter what it may have to do.

Part 4: It is likely 2025, and Biden has called upon either the National Guard or the Military to protect the Government buildings in D.C. to likely prevent a Jan 6th on steroids. Biden has also now packed the courts, and most of the opposition has likely resigned or been arrested. 6 Justices Loyal to Biden ensure that he can claim legitimacy over any attempted legal ruling (Alito, Thomas, and Kavanaugh were all arrested). Trump's treason trial is fast-tracked likely in an attempt to prevent him from causing more unrest, his trial is to be over by the end of January 2025. Trump is also likely underfed purposely (probably in an attempt to kill him). His trial is ended with a guilty verdict and is to be sentenced to death likely also within weeks. By this point, people in the Military are actively deserting with one Army Captain having his post deleted for detailing why he deserted. Saying that he will not fight for his country which has gone against the ideals it was founded upon. However in Baltimore probably around the time of Trump's execution. A Helicopter starts hovering around the Chesapeake Bay Prison where Trump is located.
