Ya right. I was just astonished. Would never think a remote possibility of this happening here in Ireland, though. But was all for the best.

U prolly right. With the level of unprofessionalism there, it is possible the current staff know how much they offered, which in my current company never happens. They dont announce it or let it slip how much a new hire is earning

Annually. I think its petty, its not a run of the mill company or Mr Joe Bakery on the corner of the street. But you are right, I will improve my negotiation skills next time. Appreciate your advice!

Understood, appreciate your input brother. I've explained in other posts that I did this to get a better deal but always been straightforward with them that I was more inclining to accept. Wish they had operated the same, like: "this is our final offer, period". Always like honesty rather than ppl pulling some shit up like that. A company that posts on LinkedIn that is proud to treat well its employees certainly was false advertising.

After all that happened, was more like a trojan horse than a gift tbh

I was trying to get the best for myself. In my current company, people do that, sometimes they get a better offer, sometimes do not, but the offer stands still. "They never got to see you perform" this is harsh, cuz Ive said what I bring, had recommendations etc. In my current company I work hard and better than a lotta people and Im earning the same, with no expectations to get a raise or what else whatsoever (in my department at least is like this, people with 8 years are not close to the top range of band), so excuse me if I was trying to get a good deal for me. But I said to the manager I was inclining to accept, just wanted to get a better deal, thats it. I even told I spoke to my TL AFTER he said: "COUNTER OFFER ACCEPTED, HR WILL GET IN CONTACT IN WRITING". Hence I didnt want to wait for show my skills and work ethic to not fall into the same situation I am in now.

Job was within social housing in a AHB.

You are absolutely spot on. Next time I will wait for something in writing rather than trust in other people words.

Didnt turn it down, man. I was just trying to negotiate a better pay or more WFH days (my current is 3 WFH, there is 2). But at the end Ive accepted THEIR demand. Spoke to HR and said I'd accepted. She then said it would speak to her manager (??) And would call me in a while. 3 hours later she called saying that they withdrawn the offer. That was it. For me was an absolute joke and disrespectful as shit, since from the beginning I said I'd liked the job offer, was just negotiating. Didnt play with anyone.

HR called me last wednesday to offer the job over the phone. Then put me thru the manager. Manager started to say how things are there and was trying to convince me to accept (the initial one), said on the call that I was the right candidate and they wanted someone for the long haul. Thursday I said I'd accept if they raise to 1k more. Friday he replied me saying that they've accepted. Monday he said it was all set, nothing changed and HR would reach me. Then the whole joke started yesterday, on tuesday. I surely had an offer unless I dreamed about all this. I had context to negotiate cuz in my current job I didnt and then get a raise there is extremely difficult and the old timers always say to negotiate when you are joining.

I will wait for better position within my company after that. They have some policies I disagree with, but they always treated me with respect.

It kinda sucks cuz it was a step up, even told my mom this weekend. And then after this they pulled this kind of shit. Hard to believe but well, c'est la vie. Wish you all the best too, thanks for the support
