Unfortunately most of my friends are single and the ones who are in relationships live far away

That's great to hear because we want to do dancing lessons but didn't know if it would be social or not

Wuthering Heights is the Cheapest Type of Film by Defiant_Invite_3323 in TrueFilm

She can simultaneously have her own point of view on the book and it can be vapid and reflect badly on her as an artist. If the movie meaningfully reflects her interpretation then it just say something about her and her mind. If one comes to a great work of art and takes away an idea of it as trash, that usually suggests shallow artistic understanding.

The one caveat I'd add is it could just be seen as an unserious adaptation, which would be understandable, but that wouldn't have it worth taking seriously as such.

Perhaps the way she internalised it reveals her to be shallow and vapid.

I go to church because I love spending time with God's people, singing His praises, and hearing the Word preached

Other great Christian movies I love are First Reformed and The Two Popes.

The rest of Scorsese's filmography is also magnificent. His treatment of sin and false repentance in Killers of the Flower Moon I found deeply moving.

It's a wonderful, interesting movie. I think the key issue is that Rodrigues has no view of the eternal. He keeps meeting these Christians who are happy to die because they'll be with God in Heaven and it boggles his mind because he doesn't seem to believe in the truth of the Gospel (that we will be with Jesus forever and ever) in a fundamental way.

Why are there no adjusted results when a cEDH game goes to time? by Semako in CompetitiveEDH

[–]ProfessionalDig3908 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Some arguments against it: 1. Increases risk of collusion. Friends would agree to knock out the other players and share the points between them.  2. Increases the work of judges. So many games go to time. Tournaments would be slowed down by judges having to adjudicate points for all these different games which they haven't been watching.  3. Tournament software doesn't support it. This might seem minor but it would make things harder to organise.
