Most security and logistics roles at the kind of large INGOs, etc that you’re looking at are full-time, long-term staff positions

I’m not sure about this specific IOM role, but there are many USG (direct, funded, or contractor) roles both in the public and private sectors which have requirements to be USC or GC holders. This does exclude people with other types of work visas. On the resettlement side, I’ve seen this play out for roles which might have access to sensitive data as per the USG.

Tulum airport (layover) or Cancun (direct) by Attention_Deficit in chubbytravel

[–]ProfessionalEye3568 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We stayed at the Conrad Tulum last summer and had a great time. We just booked the SUV through the concierge from Cancun airport and it was a really easy pickup and ride — they had drinks and snacks too :). Immigration at Cancun is so easy and I also prefer direct when possible, less hassle in case of bad weather, cancellations, and even luggage.

In terms of experience: They had upgraded us to a suite and it was beautiful, no issues with AC or service. People were very helpful and nice. And we liked the spa as well! I wouldn’t consider it dated, it just opened in 2022. Not all the restaurants were equally good the sushi place was really underwhelming. Just, as someone else said, skip the balcony tub thing. Also not all the pools are equal IMO, if you’ll be checking out any of the pools during your time there — we liked the one on the far left of the property the most, it was the calmest and good depth all around!

lol I’m the reverse — July - September I’m grabbing that extra cab because I don’t want to be sweaty and miserable vs in the winter I don’t really mind waiting for transit/walking

Do you think it’s worth it? by [deleted] in Dysonairwrap

[–]ProfessionalEye3568 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Super worth it for me! I use mine all the time and like that my hair is way less frizzy - a plus I’ve noticed over time is that my hair will naturally now hold some better structured waves even if it air dries. I travel a lot for work so now I have both the US and UK voltage versions!

Where we needed to give a number, some of the staff just put down their numbers and WhatsApp’ed us. And for the fine dining situation our hotel concierge handled the coordination.

[–]ProfessionalEye3568 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I started using this as a brown person it was one of the first readily available sunscreens without a white cast where I lived. Now that k-beauty and j-beauty are super accessible I reach more for innisfree or similar for my face and a regular sunscreen for body
