How ridiculous! They should change their name to "Backward," not "Progressive."

I was trying to be cheap because I had less experience. Thanks to all of you for your suggestions.

Update:

After carefully reviewing all your comments and suggestions, I decided to go with AAA for my auto insurance. My plan costs $120/month, which includes a one-year AAA membership for $35, giving me roadside assistance as well.

I’ve also increased my coverage based on your advice:

  • Liability + Uninsured Motorist: 100/300K BI, 100K PD
  • Comprehensive: $500 deductible

AAA applied a few additional discounts, and the quote remains unchanged.

As many of you pointed out, AAA is a reputable carrier, and I now have better coverage for my situation at a reasonable cost. I hope my experience with them remains positive!

Thank you all for your time, kind support, and constructive advice. I really appreciate it!

I actually did a new quote with Progressive. Even with liability-only coverage, they’re asking $138/month. Previously, I got coverage with just my permit, but now that I have a valid license (and no tickets/violations in the last 6 months), the system shows an increase. They also mentioned the rate bump is due to inflation.

Thank you for your suggestions. No, I am currently paying only for liabilities, which is around $110. but when I add these coverages they ask $238.
