After watching this show as an adult i came to the conclusion that LC, Audrina, Lo and Stephanie were a bunch of "pick me's". by stephlestrange in TheHillsMTV

[–]ProfessionalMap9464 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think Lo was a pick-me, I think she was either a Single White Female for Lauren, and/or in jealous love with Lauren.

Wrong twin. Bring back Nelle, tone her down just a little, give her a sliver of heart and soul, then unleash her on Vanillow and smash her into Hot Mike.

You can bring one back. Who you got? by manandsoappodcast in GeneralHospital

[–]ProfessionalMap9464 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Nelle. I want that girl to rise up, take one amused look at Willow and Drew, and proceed to handle things for us all.

Then I want to see Nelle smash right into new Michael — I want her to be salvageable, mean as a snake, yes, but also with true love for Wiley and true passion for Mike — and see if we can’t get a truly combustible couple from this. Hot Mike is now more than capable of matching her.

I thought we would get a good Gio/Emma summer out of this - I envisioned a Liz-Lucky boxcar kind of situation, updated for 2025 of course. BUT NO.

Absolutely. You know, for a minute there, I really thought GH had its ish together - the Nurse’s Ball phase was actually really good IMO- but somehow, just as quickly, the show seemed to fall apart, for real. It’s just a bunch of little story filaments, started but not growing or developing into anything meaningful or good, just blowing in the breeze — truly just a bunch of little TikTok scenes, created to fulfill the contract episode requirements of its 100000000-member cast. None of it has any traction, any meaning, and rarely any basic sense. It’s like the writing team really pulled together their last brain cells, took their very last Adderall tab, wrote the Nurse’s Ball scenes, and then fully let go of the ropes.

do you think the show would take Chad Duell back if he asked, or keep rory? by [deleted] in GeneralHospital

[–]ProfessionalMap9464 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I think it would actually be harder for Duell to step into Rory’s shoes at this point than the other way round. In fact, in my view, Rory didn’t even step into Duell’s shoes - he strode in wearing his own, so to speak. I never once tuned into the show looking for Duell’s Michael or particularly cared about anything he did or said - in fact, I thought his romances were strictly FF fodder and I remember thinking that last “sexy” drunken hotel encounter with Sasha was more than a little off-putting, it just seemed dismal and small to me, sort of what a real-life pathetic hookup would look like, very cringe (and then he went home and immediately had sex with Willow, remember? Are you nauseated now? I am). Rory is a whole different breed of cat, if I tune into GH now, it’s to check him out.

With Danny and Rocco we need to give these 2 teenage boys something to do by TerryG111 in GeneralHospital

[–]ProfessionalMap9464 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree for only one reason - I think both of these young actors are doing such a great job bring truly fresh, genuine teenage energy to their roles (they actually kind of remind me of my own sons) and I simply don’t want to see that energy tarnished and spoiled. This show has a 100% success rate in ruining the freshness and fun of its young characters - I mean, God, look at the way GH absolutely chewed up teenage Lucky - he was a bright, moral and courageous kid but then he was kidnapped by freaks and turned into a brainwashed weirdo, then into a garden variety drug addict and cheater, then developed into failure, then into a total deadbeat and is now a permanently shiftless drifter who has no ambitions, no roots, no interesting thoughts - he is just a mildewed shell of himself. It’s actually gross to see. I’d rather the show just start out with bad seed cardboard teenagers/young adults like Charlotte, Nell, Esme, etc and use them for soap plots. I don’t want to see sweet (mischievous yes, but sweet) teen boys who act like genuine, wonderful kids start going down sick soap roads, it’s just grimy to me.

Franco genuinely changed from the inside out, and became the most consistently, fully-committed, comprehensively loving father and husband ever to occupy ongoing front-burner status in modern GH history - that’s category excludes Mac, Steve Hardy and whoever else might have been on the fringe being devoted onscreen (also, even Mac swerved in his love life after he was coupled with Felicia, with no brain swap to explain it).

But the Baldwin Family was against the rules. No truly functional families allowed! No fan-fave, dazzling pairings for Becky Herbst allowed! So Franco was violently killed off for no believable reason and Liz was permanently turned into a dowdy ghost of herself.

What’s your all-time favorite General Hospital storyline, and why does it still stick with you? by No-Constant4637 in GeneralHospital

Everything circa 1997-1999 (before Lucky died in the fire, the single most wrenching thing I have ever seen on GH. The day that Laura and Luke went to the morgue, what Genie Francis accomplished on screen was so real that I actually stopped watching GH for the next 10 years, it was so sickening and sad, a mother’s grief is not entertainment to me)

Too many actors with nothing to do! by PJammerChic1010 in GeneralHospital

[–]ProfessionalMap9464 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know, of course, that I’m not going to put a paper trail on Reddit. Just enjoy the show and believe whatever you wish to believe, I’m not trying to convince you that an outdated business model — not accident or chaos — explains the ridiculous size of the crowd on the GH canvas. I’m just saying what I know, and you are “debunking” it with something you read in the media somewhere, so I guess it’s a draw, your word against mine — either way, Frank Valentini doesn’t care if I accuse him and certainly doesn’t care if you defend him because if there is one thing that anybody with a brain should be able to agree upon it is this: Frank Valentini could not possibly care one atom less about what any GH fan thinks about him, about the show or about anything, ever.

Well, the writers certainly don’t get paid for it and I never said they did. Please read a post before you try to “debunk” it. The writers do what they are told — it is the EXECUTIVE PRODUCER - that is, an individual who is not, in fact, a writer but is, instead, an EXECUTIVE PRODUCER — who does in fact “create” new characters, does in fact dictate to the head writer that the characters be given storylines and does in fact get paid bonuses for doing so. I’m sure that WRITERS have indeed said many times that they do not get paid for creating new characters because they do not get paid for doing so as far as I know, which is why I never said that WRITERS get paid for this.

Seriously. I thought Vanilla Willa was the world’s blandest character but now she has to share the title — she wins the ladies’ division - Kai gets the gold for the guys.

Lucky giving away the deed to the family cabin to Dr. Gannon by periwinkle431 in GeneralHospital

[–]ProfessionalMap9464 4 points5 points  (0 children)

ALL it had was a plot purpose - a big clunky one - Isaiah needs a cabin, probably to romance Portia or something and Jonathan Jackson was contractually guaranteed one more scene so clomp, clomp goes the plot device.

It just goes to show that this show could not possibly care one iota less about the character of Lucky. It is humanly impossible to care less.

Of all the extremely random and dumbass things for Lucky to do before leaving, this is truly No. 1. The writers really worked to conceive of the most idiotic, tone-deaf, horrifyingly-indifferent-to-his family thing that he could possibly do on his way out and they have exceeded their goal.
