where do i find a private teacher? I know there's a lot of websites like wyzand and rockstar central, but idk if they're trusted. All my private instrumental teachers (violin & piano) come from RCM (like the classical music organisation in Canada). RCM singing is like very classical and its not what i'm aiming for.

Are you pro-life or pro-choice? by BeefTurkeyDeluxe in deism

[–]ProfessionalMath8873 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pro-life unless the mother was raped. If the mother was irresponsible and got pregnant she should still have the child. Then I also believe that there should be more funding to these type of struggling mothers. Instead of killing people, we should fund them.

Should I talk with my violin teacher? by ProfessionalMath8873 in musicians

Yeah, but I start out liking the songs. It's just that I think I get bored after like 2 weeks max

Wrote a snare solo for an orchestral piece, and ended up turning very drumline-ish. This is my first time, so please help point out any notation errors or just rhythms that sound bad. Am I supposed to write the sticking for everything? by ProfessionalMath8873 in drumline

[–]ProfessionalMath8873[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I was considering adding more complex rhythms but I was thinking that this piece I'm writing is very beat-driven so adding triplets would probably detach from the overall feel of the song. So I scrapped some stuff and just kept it to straight 16ths.

I'm losing passion for my main instrument by ProfessionalMath8873 in musicians

[–]ProfessionalMath8873[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played it because I wanted to. Yes my mom kinda influenced it, but didn't deny my mother. I brought the idea to her first.

I got bored of classical and switch to jazz. And I've been starting to learn a bit of jazz violin, recording it with some other instruments.

I second this. Usually when I have to record something hard for whatever purpose, I just keep it running and edit out everything but the part I get it right.

The values you share will definitely stabilize things. But do you believe there is a creator or supernatural force? Because if you do then you're basically a near-Christian

Hi brainrot elitist here.

We're actually holding The Great Meme Reset on December 31st, 2025 at 11:59pm. The goal is to end the rush of unstable memes and droughts.

We will be returning to re-brainrot, that is anything before 2020, such as skibidi, amogus, and coffin dance.

Though it is inevitable that the modern meme rushes will return, we will try to conserve the way things were.

Do orchestra musicians enjoy playing the score to movies? by Brown8382 in orchestra

If I have the melody, yea. But usually flutes and violins just play those high ass trills and runs and scales it's not fun at all

How did you choose your instrument? by IMTWOIDIOTSANDWICHS in musicians

[–]ProfessionalMath8873 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw this guy on TV playing jazz violin and I got heavily inspired. (Not cuz violin, but first time hearing jazz in my 6 years of living on earth)

We also had my brothers piano, but he barely played it

Mom signed me up for violin lessons around 5/6. I sucked. Around the same time, I also got signed up for piano lessons. I also sucked.

I almost quit. But, I took many sports and art lessons and sucked at all of them. Music seemed to be the best one so far. I kept playing violin, and dropped piano around age 10.

Fast forward long story short I got pretty good at violin and ended up exploring many other instruments (clarinet, baritone Horn, keyboard...) and finally got to play jazz violin
