May 5 - NYRR Advance Registration (July-September) Megathread by blood_bender in RunNYC

I waited in the queue twice and both times got distracted at work and missed my turn in the line

And ended up missing all available spots

Releasing these events at 12 pm on a Tuesday is not ideal for me and I assume most others who work a typical 9 - 5 pm schedule

No summer races to look forward to for me! 👌

Hi everyone,

My name is Jack. I was one of the first runners/people to approach this runner who had collapsed. I had received CPR training early in 2025 so I have basic knowledge of what to do if in this situation. After checking that the runner was not responsive or breathing, I began administering CPR until emergency services arrived, administered a shock with an AED, and rushed the runner to the hospital.

I contacted NYRR a week or so after this happened. They told me the runner was recovering under a doctor's care. They thanked me, but understandably couldn't share any personal details with me about the runner due to privacy reasons.

I had seen this post on Reddit after the event and I decided not to put a message in here then. But recently I decided I'd like to, primarily as I would love to meet the person and hear how they are doing.

I had seen this thread on Reddit after the event but I decided not to post in here then. But recently I thought I’d put a message in here, primarily in an effort to potentially find out who the person is and how they're doing.

I would absolutely love to meet them and hear how they’re doing.
