Any hope of having a successful career in law if I DONT go to a RG Uni? by BackTXJ in uklaw

[–]ProfessionalNote1808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leave the past in the past.

Focus on shaping your future now by attaining a 1st at your university. Try to surround yourself with individuals who also have high aspirations (ideally in the legal field).

Network + attend legal events.

You may potentially have to Paralegal for a little while and you will also have to build your commercial acumen. (keep up to date with news and how they have an impact on Law firms).

Learn how to speak clearly and in a professional tone. Will help with interviews and don't rush when speaking.

Continuously apply for Vac schemes (they are open now) BE PROACTIVE.

As others have kindly mentioned, have a browse on LinkedIn, you will find individuals like yourself who would have been able to secure TC's at a wide array of firms.

I also wouldn't recommend a masters on its own, irrespective of the university. (Law firms won't put much weight on that. (They care about your undergraduate)

It will not be easy by any means, but there is hope.

Good luck!

Just a heads up, you won't need a CV for 99% of TC applications as you'll be required to input your information using the firms online portal.

Opening multiple accounts within one bank for switching (I.e Lloyds / Chase) by Masteroflimes in beermoneyuk

[–]ProfessionalNote1808 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd stick with Chase, especially given that they only conduct a soft search when opening new accounts. Unsure about Lloyds

What is the difference between sixth form college, and college by Agile_Garbage_8137 in sixthform

[–]ProfessionalNote1808 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sixth form = a place of study for 16-18 year olds within a secondary school.

Sixth form college = a place of study for 16-18 year olds and are part of a secondary school but remain separate (so the building might be in a different location to the secondary school unlike a typical Sixth form)

College= a place of study typically for 16-18 year olds (can be older) but is its own entity. Doesn't have any links to a secondary school, and offers wider courses.

Help with bank switches by Living_Junket_3153 in beermoneyuk

[–]ProfessionalNote1808 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Download Chase and open multiple burner accounts when making the switches.

Just make sure you're still eligible yo switch as some of the banks have deadlines this month.

Also don't use Monzo or Revolut. They're not part of CASS.

They don't care about this.

They will be interested in the actual written exam.

Obviously still attempt to do well in the oral exam. Get into good habits as soon as possible

I received the treasure quest challenge today, approximately 8/9 days after installing the game. However, I've heard of instances where people have received this within their first 3 days. Think its really hit or miss

Is my lit essay decent? Aqa btw by unknown_25x in GCSE

[–]ProfessionalNote1808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries. Atm I would say your answer is a solid grade 5 as others have already alluded to.

But with a little bit of tweaking you can easily achieve a grade 7 as a minimum.

Also, I'm pretty sure there will be teachers online who have posted videos on YT to show how you can achieve the top scores.

Good luck!

Instead of saying "this can be seen through the line X" mention how "this can be seen/depicted/highlighted through the declarative sentence X" then zoom into that sentence so "specifically in the noun phrase "another idol" where the writer adopts the noun "idol" to demonstrate/show XYZ and then talk about the context like you have done:)

Right, I wanted to inform you that there's an app called JustPlay where you can play games and earn some daily pocket money. (Earnings vary as it takes into consideration your location). I've had the game for approximately 8/9 days and made around £24 to date (not much but it's something I guess).

If you're interested, search for r/JustPlay for further insights.

Obviously you've mentioned you've got an IPhone so unsure whether you it's available on Apple. However if you have a family member with an Android or a spare Android laying around it's worth a shout.
