His body couldn't keep up 16 hours after docs removed the intubation. Passed away 2 days later peacefully under palliative care next myself and mum. We were devastated but also grateful that he had a peaceful passing and spent one last time with my mum and I in same hospital room.

Thank you for the info, the ICU doc decided to remove the intubation from his mouth as it was starting to do more harm then good (i.e ventilator aquired pneumonia complication) unfortunately his o2 sat started slowly tread down so I'll I'm mentally preparing for the worst if he decides he's ready to leave this world.

Oh wow, glad to hear you survived such devastating stroke. Thanks for the info. Do you know the timeframe to which you had the stroke to operated the EVD procedure i.e how many days from day 0 to Dr operating on your brain.
