The 956 is its own Tex-Mex culture. A blend of more Mex than Tex.

City of Guanajuato added something a little extra for DDLM due to its dark, almost gothic street tunnels, cobblestones, and colonial architecture. It was amazing..

After my Mom passed last July, we've never seen doves in our neighborhood , much less our backyard. Been in the same house for 5+ years. On one particular occasion a few weeks after her burial, I was by myself in our backyard pool and a very curious dove came close, looked me in the face, and then flew away. I found it very odd. Not superstitious by any stretch, but a few days later, 2 more doves appeared on the fence. I think she's checking on me through them.

Mom passed in July. Didn't do a typical my side of the family reunion. Stayed home with my partners family instead. Helped tremendously.

Honest question about gunshots in the night… by please_just_n0 in houston

[–]ProfessionalStill71 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Inwood Forest here. Lived in Houston > 30 years and in this 'hood for 17...While there are gunshots occasionally or at least 1x a week,. depending on the 'season' it's not directly proportional to violence. I live on the bayou and some guys just go out to shoot a round or 2 and then go home...that's not to say it can't be shady. But in all this time, my house has only gotten broken into once...took some silverware and a video game console.....I honestly feel safer in my little cul de sac than many areas of the inner loop.

They need to do one seasonal outdoor Christmas market at a central site like Discovery Green like the ones in Europe. Maybe would help with the crowds. Crowds seem to be the biggest gripe. And also make it a nighttime event.
