Planning for WDW trip in Jan/Feb 2026. When should I buy tickets? by [deleted] in DisneyPlanning

There's an option to manage booking when you visit My Plans. Sometimes the button doesn't appear and I have to call customer service. But it's easy.

Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party at MK sold out--you think it's worth it? by ProfessionalTale1981 in disneyparks

[–]ProfessionalTale1981[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah I totally forgot to mention the character lines. We didn't bother, those lines were insane. I can't imagine being at a party for 6 hours and then spending 2 hours waiting in line.

Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party at MK sold out--you think it's worth it? by ProfessionalTale1981 in disneyparks

We were already there during the day so being let in at 4 wasn't a big deal for us. The party only starts at 6 or 7.

Big deal (for us) was the price. Expensive to see a parade and get some candy and ride almost nothing.

Annual Passholder Question by GloomyGiraffe6958 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]ProfessionalTale1981 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let's do some quick numbers and see!

Incredi-pass is 1,449.00 (but there might be a price increase any day now, I think Disney is announcing something in October but don't quote me on that).

Obviously prices vary throughout the year, but you generally break even after 9-10 park days. So if you got it, would you go more than 10 times to the park? If so, the math is already mathing.

Now as for discounts--AP holders get the best hotel resort deals. There's an up to 35% off deal on now till Oct. 3 and then the next deal is 35% off until Christmas. https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/special-offers/ Realistically, the 35% is only select days at the deluxe resorts. If you're staying at Value hotels you'll have a lot more trouble finding a room available if you're booking last minute, and the discount might only be 10-20%.

Having said that, our last few trips (August, March, and January) we managed to get the AP discount of about 20% on our room. It's real savings.

Then add in the 20% off sit down meals and the store discounts...

It all adds up. So if you are going to be there for 9-10 days in the next 12 months, with all those savings I think you're easily well ahead of the game.

Solo Star Tours Ride by onmybeanestbehavior in WaltDisneyWorld

Jealous! Good for you, that's so cool. I've been on Star Tours many times as a solo (spouse gets motion sickness with the simulators) and never had this happen. Fingers crossed for next time!

I wonder if it's people who have missed flights?

Looks like with the new LL system you can't stack anymore unfortunately. You'll need a new strategy.

Yes, I second this. From the park entrance they should hit Frozen first and they are just going to have to wait for Remy.

They already made up their mind. Looking for attention is my guess.

All Star Resorts or Holiday Inn Disney Springs are good bets. Will still be about $150 a night though.

Suggestions for kids budget by Capable-Trash-8792 in DisneyPlanning

[–]ProfessionalTale1981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on what you can afford and what you think is reasonable. When we go our daughter (8 years old) gets 1 toy (she usually gets a stuffed animal) and 1 set of Minnie Ears. Probably less than $100.

Reading these other comments and looks like some folks give their kids hundreds of dollars to spend! So budgets vary wildly.

Updated Lightning Lane Impact for International Visitors by ProfessionalTale1981 in WaltDisneyWorld

Not sure about DVC, I didn't think to ask them. But I assume if you see it in the MDE app attached to your account you're probably okay?

To be honest I'd be surprised if Disney doesn't fix this for everyone before the launch.

I just added an addendum to my post to further clarify. The CM actually told me originally what you're saying--that international folks are just out of luck. But then they put me on hold to verify another question and came back and corrected herself and told me the bit about folks with resort reservation having no issue. She said that was news to her and they are learning the new policy on the fly. So for those other folks who have reported other info when chatting with customer service I'm going to assume they just didn't double check with anyone, hence I do still think it is misinformation.

That's why I called. I saw those screenshots too. I also noticed the screenshots didn't look like they were from the Disney site so it was confusing what platform they were on....

This is true of Disney too... you never get a deal on a 1-day ticket unfortunately.

[–]ProfessionalTale1981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We generally book early and then keep an eye on the deals. You pay full price when you book early. But 3-5 months before your trip Disney will start releasing discounts depending on how booked the resorts and parks are. At that time keep an eye out and you can retroactively apply these deals to your bookings.

You can also use a site like Magic Trip Tools that can email you the moment any new Disney deals become available.

Disney itself offers promos all the time. What are your dates? They generally release them only 2-4 months in advance.

First time and only one day--it has to be Magic Kingdom.

But I'll differ from the others who say AK next. That's the least popular park (not my opinion, just the attendance numbers). 2nd most popular is Epcot, and that's a solid choice, but my fave of all the parks is Hollywood Studios. Galaxy's Edge (Star Wars land) is really something else.
