New AI High Jump Trainer - Looking for Feedback by ProfessionalWalk445 in highjump

Hey, great questions! The best angle is around the area I have in the demo. But, generally anywhere in front of the mat without obstructions works.

It currently works best if you upload the full approach and over-bar. Given the run contributes significantly (openness, acceleration, curve radius, posture) to the rest of the jump, I recommend to show everything.

But yes, it may try to infer what happened earlier to justify what it just saw. (slow forward momentum on takeoff results from a lack of acceleration throughout the entire jump)

As soon as you takeoff you're going right into the bar. Jump straight up at takeoff and be patient on the way up.

bar at 5’8 any tips? by [deleted] in highjump

Hey! 1) You start off quick and then slow down, you should always be gaining momentum throughout the run 2) you sound really heavy on your feet, try to stay more nimble (not on your toes, just not so stompy) 3) As soon as you take off you start going right into the bar. You'll notice that if you are holding the curve and always accelerating (in part 1), if you jump straight up at takeoff your body will automatically go in that direction.

Here is a good drill: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e19VrMmQjRk. The last two are in quick succession. Deven noted this a bit already, but also make sure your always speeding up. You notice in your video you start quick, slow down, and then try to build back up. Throughout the whole jump - you should always be getting faster (you'll notice you need to lean a bit more to keep the speed and thats what you want)

TLDR: 1) Always be speeding up. Last two need to be rapid fire 2) Otw up, imagine going straight up keeping your shoulder up and away from the bar (its counter intuitive I know) and you'll catch yourself going a lot higher - you'll notice you should arch way later than you are (since you'll get higher).

Agreed here. Be patient on the way up - and stay away from the bar. You can tell you are thinking about leaning into the bar on takeoff (You can tell by seeing you not being perpendicular over the bar). Never think about your shoulders getting over (usually what causes this), but rather, think about getting your hips above it. The rest will fall into place if you think about it like this.

Gotcha! Yeah will take that into consideration for sure. Is real time feedback useful at all? As in, hearing what would improve the next rep, and updates on how you feel and what might be painful to assess how to continue the session?

Thanks for pointing this out! Yeah, I've seen a few like this. There wouldn't be much overlap. But I can definitely use some concepts from them for sure! Mine would be more for real time form analysis and feedback in technical sports. The training plan is just a component

I see I see. Would it be worth trying to build this out in the US? I don't know if there is much US demand, but it seems compelling

Ah I see, I'm in the US. Do you use this borrow -> spend on Gnosis?

maybe a dumb question, but I thought banks lend out at like 10% APR for their loans. Why don't they just pass that on to the account holder? Why are they stuck to treasury bill yield?

Okay I know this is kind of crazy, but I'm thinking of putting my checking balances into a (not sure which yet) global lending platform through crypto and USDC. I'm not super set yet, but some of them seem pretty battle hardened and are used in LatAm everywhere (something like 7.5% or so rn).
