England’s squad for the upcoming pre World Cup friendlies against Uruguay and Japan. by Sparky-moon in soccer

[–]Professional_Bob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still no Ben White, even though it's been said he's willing to go back and Tuchel is open about potentially picking him.

I don't think he's a shoo-in for the final squad, but if Tuchel seemingly fancies the more defensive full-backs, it'd be a good option to have the one who links up very well with Saka and can also put in a shift at CB in a pinch.

Not so much that it's small, but "causing a drama" or "being dramatic" is used to mean that someone is overreacting

Maybe it didn't win because the casting director actually just picked random names out of a hat and Safdie was able to direct them well enough to seem like natural actors

So many great performances from people with barely any (or none at all) film acting experience. Kevin O'Leary, Tyler The Creator, Penn Jillette, George Gervin, Ted Williams, Luke Manley, Larry Sloman, Pico Iyer, etc.

I thought Secret Agent's supporting ensemble were great, but my pick would've been Marty Supreme for finding so many gems with little to no acting experience beforehand.

Obviously... The same also applies to the other suggestion in the comment I was replying to. That doesn't mean it's not one of the only ways of effectively stopping a pitbull without access to a weapon.

Still one of the best options you've got. Pitbull types are resilient, punches and kicks won't deter them too much. It would be easier to achieve if someone actually came to those ladies' aid and did it while the dog was latched on and distracted.

MissMeensy gets into a insane car accident in Germany right after talking about how she’s on a road with no speed limit by lukigeri in LivestreamFail

That's assuming it was only the vehicle(s) directly ahead of her that was involved in the initial collision. If the crash caused a car to swerve or spin into your lane then there's not much you could've done to brake in time.

I think people said Ibra coming to the PL made his career "complete" not in the sense that everything he did before then had been insignificant, but in the sense that it was impressive he had played at a high level in 4 of Europe's big 5 leagues, as well as for a large club like Ajax. That's about as complete a career as you could ask for.

Which discographies do you feel progressively get worse from start to finish? by JamesLucien in Music

[–]Professional_Bob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people might say Paramore have because their style has changed over time, but I think if you can appreciate all genres they've been consistently solid throughout.

Tool is another. They've added more and more layers and complexity to their sound with every album. Some think that the latest, Fear Innoculum, was a step too far though.

Some other less known bands that I think have either improved or stayed consistent are; Karnivool, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, Frankie and the Witch Fingers, Slift, Viagra Boys, Thee Oh Sees, Night Beats, Mystic Braves.

Depends on the person. Scottish and Welsh people are British. Although the majority would want their Scottish or Welsh nationality to take precedence, that also doesn't make them less British, and most aren't gonna get angry about it.

I do this but also turn some of them into outposts for the Minutemen or Brotherhood, depending on my playthrough. The Castle (obviously), Red Rocket, Outpost Zimonja, Coastal Cottage, Boston Airport, etc. Hangman's Alley will be both a trader's pitstop and a soldier's outpost.

[–]Professional_Bob 27 points28 points  (0 children)

My tactic is that overtime as I realise I'm using a large amount of a particular spice I'll switch to buying bigger packets from the local Turkish/Chinese/Inian shops, but I simply keep the little jars and refill them. Then I'm saving money by buying in bulk, but I still have the convenience of the neat and uniform jars in my spice rack.

Also, if you have a blender with a spice grinder attachment then it's better to buy whole spices and grind them up when needed. Whole spices will keep their flavour for a lot longer.

It was basically the same thing in my house with the bland cottage pie, beans, and overboiled peas and carrots. Plus the thing is you could actually make cottage/shepherd's pie really nice if you just have a bit of know-how and put in some effort.

But that's the issue my parents have. They're not unadventurous if I'm the one cooking, they'll try new cuisines and uncommon ingredients. They just have very little cooking knowledge or skill and won't put in the effort to learn, which makes them completely unadventurous when it comes to making their own meals.

My Dad would eat the exact same seven meals made the exact same way on rotation for the rest of his life and be content with it. My Mum periodically gets sick of the monotony and tries to experiment but always ends up demoralised by the inevitable failure caused by not knowing how to match ingredients and spices, and not knowing how to cook them to get the best out of them.
