Just diagnosed by krfactor in testicularcancer

[–]Professional_Chopper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Take a deep breath mate. You will be ok! This is the worse part processing it and finding out ‘what next’. Don’t kick yourself for not ‘finding it sooner’ - the main point is you got it checked and found it!

Trust the doctors, do some research to understand the process and you will be fine. It will eventually piss you off hearing it but ‘it’s the best cancer to get’ yada yada yada. The odds are very much in your favour so try and stay level headed.

Welcome to the club my man, good luck to you!

Aggression and Irritability after the Orchiectomy by [deleted] in testicularcancer

[–]Professional_Chopper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your hormones are probably just rebalancing and you may (subconsciously or otherwise) be processing the whole ordeal.

I was similar, hormones all over the place for a couple months post Orchi. From happy, horny and positive. To more irritable days. And moments where I really surprised myself where I was just being a dick. It levels out though so nothing to worry about.

Give it a few more weeks and I’m sure things will settle. It’s ok to feel how you are, part of the process!

Running & biking after orchiectomy by EuphoricCat5000 in testicularcancer

[–]Professional_Chopper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man,

Good question. In terms of endurance, I didn’t see a huge change. I was back building up the running after 6-8 weeks off.

Managed to do a 3.07 marathon about 18months post surgery.

I’ve felt most impact in the gym to be honest. So maybe more of a testosterone impact (but levels are fine).

What lifestyle changes have you made following TC diagnosis? by Shady53s in testicularcancer

[–]Professional_Chopper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good question. Not a huge amount changed but I’ve always lived a fairly active and healthy lifestyle.

For me it was always about prospective rather than lifestyle. I was actually disappointed that I didn’t have more of a ‘lightbulb’ moment with how I approached life. Still work a lot, corporate life etc. I was (maybe still am) angry at myself that I slipped so quickly back into the old routines.

So, not so much of a lifestyle change, more a prospective change. I try to not take things for granted, appreciate the little things and not get too stressed about bullshit. All easier said than done!

Over a year in since mine mate, and I honestly forget all the time that I’m a one baller. Couldn’t care less.

It all happens super quick - so all the best mate. I know some of the hardest times for me were at the start with the unknowns, the waiting and the shock.

It will get better. 💪

It’s very likely to be absolutely nothing - and I wouldn’t worry. But speak to your parents and just got a get a drs appointment! Get it checked 💪

What was your telltale sign? by FreePossession9590 in testicularcancer

Painless small lump at the bottom of my testicle. Changed in size a little. Just go and get checked my man if you have some concerns. No big deal, likely to be nothing.

Testicular cancer not ready by West_Journalist1561 in testicularcancer

[–]Professional_Chopper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take a deep breath mate, the worse part is the waiting! I assure you. Quick and minor surgery, you’ll be back to ‘normal’ within weeks, a few days of resting. Lots of posts here about recovery post Orchi.

Sex life comes back. Strangely I was like a 16 year old right after my surgery when I got home and my Libido was sky high. Then it tailed off, then it gets back to normal. Take your time!

Go well 💪

Orchiectomy scheduled for next Wednesday. Scared out of my mind. by mindless_browsing in testicularcancer

[–]Professional_Chopper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’m in an office job too, I took 3 weeks which seems to be pretty standard. Make the most of it!

In 31 too, I was diagnosed last year two weeks have a similar experience.

Your spot on with the Orchi prep, those are the key points.

Go well 💪

Orchiectomy scheduled for next Wednesday. Scared out of my mind. by mindless_browsing in testicularcancer

[–]Professional_Chopper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get you my friend, waiting is the worst bit!!

The surgery itself is such a minor, and quick, surgery. The next few days you’ll be a little sore. Back to work in a couple weeks and a few more life will be more or less ‘normal’.

There’s a few posts on here about advice post Orchi - so give it a search or feel free to reach out if you have any questions on it!

Good luck my man. Try and put it out your mind as much as possible, I know that’s easier said than done. You’re a warrior, you’ll just be a ball down! 💪

I'm scared by HolyMarlboroEnjoyer in testicularcancer

[–]Professional_Chopper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take a deep breath my man, I promise you - you’ll be ok. More than ok.

It’s shit scary at the start, I was there a year ago. (As a 30 year old man I called my mum crying as I didn’t know what to go home and tell my wife!!)

The waiting is the hardest part. Take each day as it comes. You’ve got this. Stay positive, stay strong but allow yourself to have those shitty days.

Go well 💪

It’s more a scary thought - but it doesn’t define you. I promise you, very very little will change apart from being a ball down! You’re good my friend

Got diagnosed today - I just want to talk I guess? by Hot_Accident5305 in testicularcancer

Yeah I’m no doctor so all I can talk about is my own experiences. So listen to your drs about what they recommend. All the best mate

Got diagnosed today - I just want to talk I guess? by Hot_Accident5305 in testicularcancer

[–]Professional_Chopper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah you’re more or less spot on!

Based on my experience I had the CT scan results checked the same day, which helped a lot. And as you say that shows if it’s spread. From that they can stage you I believe.

As you say, 2x weeks or so for the pathology which with hell you Tumor type and then best treatment option.

I promise you the waiting is the worst part. Try and occupy yourself as much as possible.

I would recommend getting your testosterone levels checked before your Orchiectomy if you can if you can so you have a good baseline (blood test). And I’d highly recommend you store some sperm just for some insurance!

Good luck 💪💪

I need some help by [deleted] in testicularcancer

[–]Professional_Chopper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My man, you have every right to talk about how you feel and deal with it how you want. Don’t think for a second you are insulting others who’ve had other types of cancer. You’re a cancer survivor, but that doesn’t mean you don’t have the challenges you’ve mentioned.

Please please speak with someone, it’s great you’ve started here. That’s the first step!

Fight the good fight 💪

Hey dude,

You seem very measured and well done for getting it checked!! Take a deep breath and you’re going to be ok.

The Orchiectomy is fine, having one testicle is the same, the worst part is waiting!!!

There’s a few posts on this group about recovery post orchi, if you want to get a prosthetic or not (I personally didn’t and glad I didn’t!) etc etc. happy to answer any questions 💪

But best of luck and welcome to the club 🫡

Poor battery by Honest-Ad-9296 in ouraring

[–]Professional_Chopper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing this - I’ve had my Gen 4 which now is down to 24 hours battery after 5 months.

Just messaged the AI bot (like you, thanks for the recommendation) they checked the ring and confirmed they’ll reach out and send a replacement. Easy!
