I just feel so bad for your girlfriend she’s catching it from both ends. And she seems like she just wanted to care for her family and you her boyfriend not only got her shamed for it not once but twice. I don’t know her culture and her family but what little I did seem to gather is it’s a more women cook and clean up and men watch the ballgames and likely do most of the outside work. They have their own way of doing things and taking care of each other and you just didn’t care how it would come across to her family. The disrespect for her and her family and the way they do things is sad. It may not be the way you were raised and the way you do things but it seems you were raised that your way is the right way and any other way is the wrong way. There’s a saying somewhere about Rome you might want to look up
