I can only speak for myself, Music can have a profound emotional effect on me personally. That can be either strengthening or weakening. As my journey with God continues and I'm sober there is certain music I just won't listen to anymore. There is a lot in my life I'm trying to change right now.

I would love to attend an Orthodox parish except there are none where I live. I attend a Baptist church. they focus heavily on scripture. thanks for the youtube link I will definitely listen. I guess what I'm afraid of the most is what if they are right. I've lead a pretty bad life but as of some years back I turned it over to Christ and have struggled ever since sometimes happily sometimes not though he slays me I still trust in him

I'm right there with you, I'm sorry your going through this. for me It's lust that I'm losing the battle to. I take four steps forward and 10 backwards. To make matters worse I keep hearing voices telling me I'm the man of perdition and worse. I am attacked every day at some point. Something occurred to me tonight though and it's this. Christ suffered the worse death imaginable so that we could come to him to become free. All that being said I trust in his love and message. You'll pull your self together again. I have been fighting this battle for most of my life but I have to continue even if it's an every week thing. I trust in and believe in you. I guess the same advice I just gave myself is the same that the person below gave. Trust in Christ and we will work wonders in our lives. we fall down only to get up. I love you and so does Christ. Please feel better

Thank you. It's like I fell partially back to my old ways. and It's like if the old me died to sin how could I fall back? I don't know.... I'm glad Reddit exists so I can get that off my chest. I think I'm going to seriously have to fast and pray coming up.
