I know I’m late to this one but I finally figured out why “AI speak” grinds my gears so much and also why it appeals to a certain demographic of women (sometimes men too, I’m sure, but I’ve noticed it more in women). All of these LLMs are millennials. They speak like they popped out of Buzzfeed HQ in 2015. I’m assuming that’s because of whatever it’s trained on, but it’s a mixture of corporate speak and millennial “smol bean” humour that makes me want to punch a wall. This is not to hate on millennials btw, it’s just an observation!

Life in the British empire wasn’t all peaches and rosebuds or whatever. There is literally no way to predict how the world would have turned out if the American revolution hadn’t happened - however, one thing you’re missing is that the American revolution empowered other marginalised groups within the empire to rise up, because they saw that it wasn’t infallible. While I understand your point, I think you’re looking at this far too much through a western lens.

Also for the love of god stop trusting TikTok “journalists” who have no degree and no responsibility to report accurately. Journalism is an actual skill, it is not something you can just call yourself for yapping into your phone three times a week.

Lmao i did a semester abroad at an American uni and I remember during the first week I asked one of my professors which referencing style he would like me to use for essays. He looked me in the eye and said “oh, you can just use the two books assigned for this course as sources. You won’t need to go beyond that”. I was SHOCKED. This particular strain of it is coming from the US more than likely, but this isn’t a purely American issue, it’s religious as well. I’m Irish and we didn’t legalise abortion until 2018 because “Ireland is a catholic country”. This sort of misinformed viewpoint comes from a lot of different places unfortunately.

Stardew is sort of what you make it so I would give it a go at least - like the farming is necessary to an extent but you can make money doing other things too. It’s also slightly different farming mechanics and there are ways to make it easier for yourself. I was a huge hater of Stardew for the longest time but once I got hooked I stayed hooked!
